— Horrible Experience! BEWARE Before Booking Empire Hotel, Puri
This has been one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Empire Hotel in Puri completely ruined what should have been a pleasant stay.
First of all, the staff were extremely partial — they treat some guests well and ignore others. Some people were welcomed with drinks, while we were given nothing. This kind of biased treatment is unacceptable.
The biggest shock came when the housekeeping staff entered our room using a master key WITHOUT KNOCKING. This is a serious breach of privacy and security. Imagine someone just walking into your room without permission — absolutely disgraceful!
The breakfast was pathetic, with the same repetitive menu all three days. Just one tiny change doesn’t make it better. The entire property is dirty, poorly maintained, and far below basic hygiene standards.
The staff’s attitude was rude and arrogant from start to finish. On checkout day, even though the time was 10 AM, they called us five times, disturbing us continuously. We requested just one extra hour, and they bluntly refused without any courtesy, as if they were doing us a favour by letting us stay.
Rooms were not cleaned properly every day, adding to the misery.
Honestly, this place does not deserve to be called a “hotel.” It’s a nightmare. Management clearly doesn’t care about guests, only about money.
👉 I strongly warn everyone — DO NOT STAY at Empire Hotel, Puri. They need to seriously fix their attitude, hygiene, and basic hospitality standards before calling themselves a hotel.

My dear Guest, I intend to treat you thus, as I sense some misunderstanding , between the lines.
No guest has any good or bad relation with any Hotel staff, for a simple reason that the duration of relation in between is short lived. Hence the question of my staff ill behaving with guests does not arise as the latter knows that any misbehavior from him towards ANY guest, would cost him his job. It is purely an accident that you did not receive any welcome drinks unlike others as it may happen during a busy check in time.
I absolutely agree with you that nobody should have entered your room without prior notice.
At the same time I would beg your pardon, on behalf of the housekeeping staff, who was relatively new to his profession and would now have learnt the mistake he had done.
I am surprised to hear that our Breakfast is pathetic! In Puri we have a name in providing the BEST breakfast layout in as many Hotels present around.
The management has not received a single complain saying that our place is dirty and lacking basic hygiene. Yes our Hotel is in the process of renovation which has been reduced to a very limited area, for which there is no loss of hygiene, at least
