Review Of East India House

The food was excellent, but there is a garbage dump close by, so there was a stench on one of the evenings we stayed there. The other evening was fine. Staff is helpful, but not much to do apart from the pool and a short trek. The set menus were excellent, and service very good. We were well taken care of by Jayesh.

Absolutely stunning property, beautifully curated and the food was out of this world! We loved the care and thought that seems to have gotten into each and every aspect of our visit. We’ll love to visit again! Ten-on-ten!!

Ever had an entire resort to yourself? We did — and it felt unreal. Just a short drive from Mumbai lies a serene escape that feels worlds away — welcome to East India House in Uttan. – Mumbai’s hidden gem that gives you total Goa vibes. We visited on a Sunday, just after the rains, and guess what — we had the entire place to ourselves. No crowd. Just peace, lush greenery, and a private infinity pool all to us. Stepping inside felt like entering a different world — warm tones, vintage details, and stories in every corner. — charming rooms with vintage East Indian names, massive porches overlooking lily ponds, and a cozy French-colony vibe. Lunch was waiting… followed by a dip in the pool while it rained. Next morning, we woke up to birds, mist, and a balcony view that felt unreal. A breakfast tailored to our taste buds, and honestly — they did not disappoint. Every interaction with the staff felt genuine — attentive, kind, and always a step ahead.

The resort was wonderful. The food was tasty and fresh. The rooms were clean and beautiful. The service was good. There's only one downside and that is the road leading to the hotel is narrow and dug up. Coming without a car is not a good idea, as it is difficult to get a cab to come there.

An absolutely amazing experience at east india house. From the moment we arrived at the property the staff have been cordial and sweet. A smooth check-in experience to one of the lower deck rooms overlooking the serene infinity pool. The meals are from a fixed menu and get to choose either veg or non-veg and i found this to be great as i have observed alot of food wastage in the traditional buffets. The food was yum and a 5/5! the sunset trek was another highlight and we rounded it up with a great time in the pool. We came back home relaxed and rejuvenated! thank you east india house team for this splendid experience and we will be back again with friends and family

It's the best boutique resort nestled at the hillside, it's an unexpected view to die for. Tejas and his team have extended the best staying experience to our entire group. To add to the bonus, the live singer was too awesome. Highly recommended

There should not be a veg or non veg set menu, it should be veg and non veg options for either course

Amazing place, good food lunch was like awesome, great hospitality every person was helpful in some or the other way. You have option to trek or take a dip in the pool. So all in all a great place.

Excellent is one word that sums up our stay. Right from the location to the staff to the rooms to the food. Peaceful location within the city, yet seems miles away from it. The trek organised by the hotel is truly worth it and a must do. The meals are excellent…multi course meals with different cuisines. Staff is very helpful and forever smiling. Rooms are pretty well designed. Overall the property has small design touches which truly delight. Perfect weekend retreat. The live music on Saturday nights was a great experience…the singer was excellent. Highly recommend. Will return for sure.

Very well maintained property, convenient from mumbai. The staff here was courteous, the food was excellent and the rooms were clean. Nice place to go with family and friends.

Negative aspects: very small property (hardly half an acre) rooms are way too small for the price asked, terrible wifi. Positive: nice forest view, pool, friendly staff, decent interiors, cafe and food.
