Review Of Coir Village Lake Resort

Good place. Room lighting and all could be improved. No other lights were working other than tube. Food was tasty and reasonable

The location was great, can be reached through boats provided by the resort. Pool was under maintenance which was disappointing. Otherwise the service was good but the rooms need more repairs

Property's location is slightly far away from actual alleppey, but that is totally worth the experience that you get over here. Food wise the property takes care of you nicely with additional requests also(if any) with some nominal additional charges. Amenities currently are good and also there some in progress for future timeline but having said that the bare minimums are taken care of as mentioned in the resort's description page. Add-on services like shikara, coracle & kayaking can also be availed with additional charges or can be bundled up in the package itself. One great thing here is the extremely sweet & caring people. This aspect really took my heart. Bottomline, the property is a must recommendation.

Our group, consisting of both couples and friends, booked eight rooms for our stay. The staff was incredibly supportive, offering us a dedicated space to relax and socialize. They were always accommodating, quickly providing plates, spoons, and utensils whenever we requested them, without any hassle. Additionally, the boat staff were exceptional, always on hand to assist with crossings, ensuring our experience was smooth and enjoyable. The rooms were decent, but given the beauty of the location, they could certainly be improved to match the overall setting.

The resort is a very beautiful place. Absolutely loved the ambience. Enjoyed various water activities. I suggest everyone to visit this resort whenever they are in and around allepy.

The location is not in the city. The hotel doesn't offer cab or auto we have to go 1 hour to the town where the auto charge is 1000 rs. The cottage is good but cleaness is ok only

Serene calm and quiet resort amid-st waters. Good food and courteous staff. Had a nice time. Boating in the backwaters was complimentary and enjoyable.

Wonderful landscape. Beautiful garden. Clean premises. Nice stay lot of mosquitoes. Congested room. Single bed system is uncomfortable. Needs to be upgraded to king-size bed.

The property is good. Landscaped in small islets in pallana river and its estuaries, the cottages are very picturesque and scenic. They are strewn over these small islets and accessed only by country boats. First you park the car and then cross the small canal by boat to the islet in the middle where the reception and restaurant are housed. Then you are taken to the next islet by boat again. Cottages are twin cottages with separate ac, geyser and sit-out facing the canal. We didn't have any food there, so i can't comment on the quality of cuisine. These are the positives. Now the negatives. First, the price. We paid almost 4k just for the room. It is over-priced for the amenities provided. I shall list these point by point. 1) the cottages are too small. The sit-out is okay but one can't do yoga or exercises there in the open. Nor can we sit there in the room with friends because there are no chairs there and the lounge chairs (kept in the sit-out) are big and can't be kept indoors because of paucity of space. I have travel-led widely in india & abroad and for relaxation you need more space. 2) the bathroom is very poorly conceived. The tiles are mediocre and they were broken too. The shower doesn't give proper stream and way too high to adjust the angle. The toilet seat was very shaky in our cottage. 3) no bed-side lamps. In a resort like this, one spend lot of time to read. The only bright light provided is a tube light; that too not behind the bed. Tube light itself is in bad taste. This is the first time i am seeing tube-lights indoors in a 3 star rated resort. Very bad taste indeed. 4) and plug points too are few. These days of internet, one spends lot of time browsing the internet. So there should be enough plug points and a table with proper chair. These are standard features in any resort. In coir village they are highly inadequate. 5) the country boats which shuttle the guests are too big and ride too high in the water and the boat rolls a bit too much for comfort. A low slung flat boat would have given a safer ride. Maybe they chose these boats to carry more guests; but these lumberous boats too can carry only 6 or 7 people without risk. A flat wooden boat of some 20' by 4' can carry 6 or 7 people comfortably. 6) there is no means to call the reception from the cottages. You have to depend on your mobile phone and the range is not all that great in these remote places. To get the wi-fi connectivity, i had to dig up a number from the coir village web-site and i got connected with somebody in alleppey and he had to call the girl in the reception to attend to it. Very inconvenient indeed. Especially with the 3 star price-tag. They should provide intercom and there should be a person to attend to such things 24/7.

The location of the property is excellent. The access to property is only through boats. Although it's an exciting experience, sometimes it causes delay in your schedule. Otherwise the property is excellent and worth staying for longer periods if someone wants to spend some time away from the crowd.

Hygiene is not good

The amenities provided are far less compared to other resorts. Rooms and bathrooms are average. No swimming pool, intercom. No canoe ride was provided. Food was also average. No fish items were provided.

Difficult to reach. untrained and rude staff behaviour safety standards poor. very limited food menu. Not recommended for a pleasant stay

Location is very good. A fantastic place to enjoy the backwater and gods own country in its best. But the stay was average, may be a three star facility. The food was good and staff was very co-operative and friendly the boating wad the highlight which should not be missed. Overall a great location and food with an average stay

To reach the property its hectic but the travel is worth an experience
