"The property's location is excellent, within walking distance from Matheran Railway Station and the Market. The serene ambiance, completely isolated from the noise and chaos. The food served during our stay was delicious vegetarian dishes with a great mix of Gujarati, Maharashtrian, and Punjabi. The meals, including lunch, dinner, and breakfast in the next morning, were all outstanding. This property is highly recommended for groups and couples looking for a peaceful retreat. We'll definitely consider staying here again."

The hotel needs to mention their room category to choose between tent and rooms. There is no specifications given for which i had to pay more extra for rooms because the booking is only done for tent.

Very pleasant stay with lot of activities for kids and adults and very good food.

The property is very isolated from the main market and one must be prepared to walk some distance with a steep height. We opted for a deluxe ac room costing 4000 a night. The room offers no view whatsoever. No working tv however it's not a problem for us. They serve good gujrati style food but it will be charged 300 per head if not included in the package. This could be a good option for a large group. We thought it was overpriced considering it was the off season. Explore other options before resorting to this one.

Long weekend from 28-2nd oct, so last minute we choose ashok hotel. Pros 1. Good authentic veg gujarati food 2. Ample space in the resort with small swimming pool, bow & arrow, open ground for badminton, cricket or walk. 3. Family friendly as they organized some live singing on weekends cons 1. Matheran is all about walking, this hotel is 1 km from railway station/market with stiff climb at two points. 2. Room size was 200 sq feet, nothing much than sleeping. Most the rooms are with connecting doors, so next room noise & sound disturbs you. 3. No tv or wifi nor network in room so if it's raining then u r stuck in room

They gave us tent instead of room inspite of raining outside. Food quality is not good. Hospitality from the staff is good.

While the property is spacious, the outdoors are far better than the indoors. The rooms lack hygiene.

The property is not clean, and an ongoing construction room was given to us where electricity sockets were open. And no proper water coming in bathroom and flush. Totally managed by non professionals. Only food was good rest all is not up to the mark and not worth for i paid.

Good friendly staff, wonderful location, good crowd and must say most delicious food one can find in entire matheran. Would love to go back and stay.
