MTDC Matheran

I had high expectations from MTDC Matheran, but the experience was quite below average. The room was not properly maintained — dusty furniture, damp smell, and stained bedsheets. Basic cleanliness was missing. The washroom also needed proper cleaning and had water leakage issues. Service was very slow; we had to call multiple times even for simple things like water and towels. The staff was polite but seemed understaffed and not well-organized. The location is good and the surroundings are peaceful, but the property feels old and not well-managed. For the price charged, we expected much better maintenance and service. Needs major improvement in cleanliness, maintenance, and hospitality.

I had taken my NRI friend to MTDC as i had heard a lot about it. The cottage was good but not maintained well. There were no toiletries. The cupboards dusty, the toilet wasnt clean. At night there is nobody to guide you from the restaurant to the room and no lights on the way.

We have booked a standard non ac room for a night stay... The room was clean and tidy but there must be a selling fan instead of a wall fan... TV has no network...no one attended the issue... Rest all like food.. ambience... location is excellent 👍 Thank you

Here’s a short version of your negative review: Very disappointing stay! No room service, no toiletries, and no cleaning provided. The property was poorly maintained with damaged items and no hot water. Also, it’s 2.5 km away from Matheran city, which makes it very inconvenient. Not recommended at all.

Toilet was not cleaned. Flush was not working. MTDC needs to audit their hotels in order to get good amount of customers.

Location very convinient. View also nice. Food prepartion also good. Staff very friendly and helpful nature.

The location is not good, it's near Aman lodge so every time you have to travel from Matheran to Aman lodge. The room is also not spacious, service and breakfast is good.

The best experience I am my wife had great stay great food. also the hotel room was cleaned and staff was well behaved great experience

the stay and the rooms were very comfortable the staff was also very polite but the food quality was not up to the mark and the restaurant was not good.

Overall experience was good, except that room did not have intercom to connect with housekeeping. Had to look for people in kitchen for help.

This is the worst experience with MakeMyTrip booking in my entire life. The property was beautiful but has been completely damaged. No cleanliness, limited staff, Intercom not working, had to visit the restaurant which was in a different campus in heavy rain for breakfast and lunch as they provided only dinner for room service due to limited staff. The property is mostly damaged and falling apart. The furniture is not repaired. Stains in the pillow and mattress. Wifi network is only available inside the restaurant and reception. You can't call to complain from the property as there is no mobile network. For any requirement we had to visit the reception due to no network and intercom. The only good thing was the behaviour of the limited staff available.

The property is good but it needs serious maintenance. The staff is good and cooperative.

No hot water. Lack of lights in the Resort premises after sun set. Too many frogs hopping inside the room. Light not working inside the Bathroom. No intercom to call in restaurant and Reception incase we need anything or in emergency. Entrance door not opening and closing smoothly. Had to bang and push the room entrance door for that. Room is too small. Breakfast was not that great. Was fine. Staff was helpful. Even at the restaurant. Resort is spacious. They provide paid cab services. Water is 24 hrs. But hot water not working. Overall it's Average. Depends on which room you choose for your stay.

room was not up to mark. No facilities provided. No wifi and TV working. Room full of dull smell. No cleaning maintain room was not up to mark.

We booked 2 standard rooms for 2 days, but one room had its bathroom door nearly falling so they gave us a Family room And the next day we had to change rooms again and they gave us another 2 Standard room. Over all experience was very nice the staff was friendly and helpful. My only problem was the constant room changing. Aside from that a very nice experience.

MTDC Matheran has good approach but rooms and Bathrooms need to be improved. Lots of equipment was not working. But food was good

Location is average.. its not in matheran first of all... its near dastoori parking and area .. second, they have no room service or reception... basic amenities like toilet paper, dental kit, tea/coffee etc. missing...didn’t have good experience over all...

Stay was excellent. The room was clean and tidy. The check in process was smooth. Room service was also good. The staff was helping. Also there was a restaurant in the mtdc service and the food quality was also good.
