Review Of Weligama Bay Resort

Property is good, but don’t expect 4 star level experience. The staff is nice and kind, we had issue with our room which they addressed to the best of their ability. Breakfast doesn’t have much variety but that’s the case in most hotels here. The best part is the proximity to the Weligama beach as they have private access which makes the stay worth it. Pricing could’ve been lower.

Old hotel. Stinky washroom, breakfast limited, no buffet. Chargeable water, toothbrush, manager never turned up on multiple request to talk for accommodating few request as we had a 1. 5 yr baby. We requested the restaurant to make simple lentils(dal) woth no chillies for the baby. They sent us a spicy dal curry so my baby had to eat plain rice and sleep. Staff there have no decision making power and the manager is never available so it's all set in stone. Bad quality of bath gel and shampoo. Pols carry your own if you still plan to go after seeing this review. Marriott hotel. Next to us was very lively, friendly and accommodating. We dis all our breakfast there despite having a pure booked b/f at this place. No indian plug point except 1 extension cord that's available for kettle. Tea kit has only 1 type of tea and they don't give green tea sachet which we asked for.

Worst behaviour by the staff, worst service, very rude behaviour, horrible

I had booked the property but due to some issue at check-in was told by the FOM - Mr. Chandal that they didn't have my booking. MMT resolved the issue but the attitude and non supporting behavior of the manager took me by surprise . He didn't offer any resolution leave aside the basic courtesy to help a customer. He straight off washed his hands and told me to deal with MMT rather than offering any help. I was denied usage of hotel phone or resources. Being in a different country with limited access to communication media, this was something basic that a hotel could have provided for me to resolve the issue I really liked the property and food but service time was too long.

Hotel Doesn't have any contract with make my trip. They denied me the booking. Wasted a day because of this issue. Eventually I paid triple amount to them just for a night with a common toilet room.

We tried checking in at 7 pm but they did not have confirmation from MMT. MMT after several international calls informed that booking is through Expedia. Finally at checkout when they did not receive anything from Expedia they threatened to call police. We paid USD 200 for hotel which we have paid advance in full and also incurred USD 50 on international calls without any help from MMT.

Amazing place, beautiful beaches, the rooms are just perfect, service and food is also good. Overall experience was fantastic. Breakfast was healthy and fresh. A good place to sit back and relax for the entire day. Surfing also easily accessible and surfboards are even cheap on rent basis.

Loved the stay here, staff was courteous. Enjoyed the location. Hotel gave compliment cake because it was my hubby's birthday. They prepared it in less than 3hrs and delivered to me. Nice menu, we enjoyed every bit of the stay at this place.
