Nishal, rubina, their father naresh ji and mother run this lovely rustic homestay, about 3 kms away from pelling town in the village of sinyang. Getting to it can take some time and effort (taxi or trek from pelling and then an uphill walk to the homestay though one hears a motor-able road is being built that will come right till the house; until that happens please find out the route and rates and figure out timings in advance - better to reach the property while there is still daylight. However the hosts are very sweet, helpful and accommodating and are happy to assist you in finding transport from siliguri, helping get your luggage uphill, organising pick ups or even picking you up and dropping you off themselves when the occasion permits. The rooms are simple and cozy, opening to breath-taking views of the kanchenjunga, the property is very pretty, tastefully done up, with a homely vibe and quite clean overall!
head over to the kitchen area to sample some of their lovely homemade food and wine, to chat with the family, gather tips to better plan your local itinerary etc. You can explore the family's avocado-cardamom-kiwi gardens, walk around the village exchanging greetings with friendly neighbours against gorgeous natural backdrops and for the more adventurous souls, the hosts even org-anise biking, trekking, barbeque and other offbeat, memorable experiences over and above the regular tourist tours of pelling. Lovely services, caring hosts, beautiful surroundings, what's not to like? i'm planning on visiting again, hope you do too!
