Excellent Stay
We got the warmest welcome and experience at this stay. It was super cozy and comfortable, felt like home. The staff made everything so easy for us, even with guidance regarding our trip there, the owner came to greet us and made sure our stay there was as comfortable as possible.

Average Stay
The property is beautiful slightly off the location taxis and carts aren't available easily. Major downside is the food and service you have to wait 1. 5 plus hours for the food if you inform and don't whatsapp it to the exact guy they won't prepare it. Another downside is being a hot tourist spot there is no food ordering post 7 pm property shuts down at 8-8. 30 pm even if you have to leave post that you'd have to do several chores to get it done. The property is good but the staff is least accommodating they bluntly say no to everything.

An average stay
familySo i have only one complaint about the stay is the food, in-house food was tasteless and expensive too after reminding many times food quality did not improve. Otherwise bed were a comfortable heating mechanism works well silent luxury stay.

My stay at the Himalayan retreat was very good. It is a home away from home. The staff mantu was very courteous and helpful. The property is very well maintained. It’s clean, location is perfect 👍 thoroughly enjoyed 😄

Good Stay
groupThe stay was very comfortable and the property was v beautiful as depicted in the pictures. Only concern is the food here which we have to order 2 hours prior. Everything else was well maintained and helper was very helpful as well with regular cleaning and maintaining the property.

Peaceful, beautiful and a lovely stay
Lovely stay during the winter of 2019. Stayed for two nights in middle of December. Location: Only 2.5 kms from the govt. bus stand on the mall road. The hotel is in the gated premise of A. B. Vajpayee Mountaineering Institute. There are very few properties around and the place is exceptionally beautiful. Room: Stayed in the studio apartment. A proper studio apartment with almost all equipments to use. Very, very spacious. The balcony is also very good. Food: Delicious. Cannot say anything more about it. Staying in December: We stayed in mid December. When it had just snowed a night before. It was extremely cold. If you are staying at this hotel or pretty much any hotel in Manali in December then please consider the below points. These points are specific to this hotel and could very well be applicable to others as well. The room gets extremely, extremely cold. Deathly cold. Everything in the room also gets cold. Right from the floor, tables, chairs, utensils, bedsheets, pillows, curtains etc. literally everything gets cold. Heaters are available on rent. That seems to be the standard across most hotels in the region. You'll have to rent a heater on a per day basis. Most heaters are electric, standing, single/double rod heaters. They are of no good. It will never, literally never warm the entire room. It can only warm a little 2 ft. space. So if you are travelling in December to Manali, Shimla etc. carry your own portable heater if possible. The geyser worked perfectly. So we had hot water in the wash basin and shower/tap all the time. I had a great stay here despite the cold and everything. I will definitely visit in summers once. Big thank you to Sahil who looked after us and everything.

Thanks Suraj for lovely comments. During winters its really cold in this part of region. However despite electric heaters we have fire wood chimneys in the rooms which gives you feel of live fire as well as warm us the room as well. Fire wood of course would be on nominal charge as to be bought from forest depot only on permit.

Excellent Stay
The cottage has been constructed at a beautiful location in a beautiful swiss style. Rooms are well lit and spacious. Every room has a balcony and one can see dense deodar forest straight from the room. The staff was also very helpful. I stayed there with my family. I would recommend this place as it's away from the city noise and yet very close to the main town.

Better than pictures. More than Worth it
Needs a photo shoot. Place is prettier and well maintained. Sunil Ji very helpful in anything you need and staff is very sweet. Worth the money. Very cooperative.

Amazing stay
I have stayed for three days at retreat cottages. It is amazing place to stay. Cottages are good and like home to us. All services related to food and room services were good. Mr Sharma has helped us to get the cab for Rohtang visit. Sahil- service boy has taken care of rest of the things. We have enjoyed our stay over there. It is one of the best place to stay at Manali.
