Review Of Shikher Guest House

Shikher Guest House is old but maintained well. The owners and staff are polite and helpful. The food option is limited but they maintain good quality at reasonable price although the dessert part was not good. Shikher is situated at 1.5 km from Kalimpong on a steep hilly road, so one will need a taxi everytime going out from here.

Nice place to stay. Rooms were tidy and clean. Staffs were cordial. All rooms had open terrace facing valleys. Unfortunately we missed kanchanjangha peqk due to cloud. Food only on order and freshly made. Dinner and breakfast was of excellent quality and delicious. In our entire tour of darjeeling and kalimpong we could not found any better food. Only cons is this is at high altitude and accessing the market by walk will be difficult. Tharpa c holing monastery is very nearby and one must visit while in kalimpong.

Those who love to be with nature away from honking and the internet. It's the right place to be in. If u are lucky you can see kanchanjangha range from the bed through the glass panels.

The stay was comfortable and peaceful, the area is very safe though a little secluded. Rooms were big and airy with a beautiful balcony. The staff were really warm and helpful. Food is good and freshly made. The area is quite uphill senior citizens might face issues. Room service can be improved though, and i didn't really liked the condition of the blankets, they should replace the covers looked a bit dirty.

Rooms, foods & hospitality were great. Towels were in very poor condition & requires to be changed every day. Mending of bed was not done.

The location of the hotel was good. It was a bit far from mall Road. The food was not that great. It was average. Services were fine. The room was okay. All the basic amenities were provided in the room. Staff was friendly and polite.

The Guest House is around 2 km from the central Kalimpong Haat bazaar with excellent scenic views from Guest House rooms. We stayed at room which had excellent views of Kanchanjunga from room beds during the morning hours. All the staff had great sense of hospitality with polite approach to every requests. Also, the food prepared in the Guest House is very good and has multiple options to choose from. The breakfast was complimentary and had continental or American or Indian cuisines to choose from. The amenities were also very good with geyser and room heater (though chargeable) available. The check-in and check-out experience was also smooth and the staffs were very helpful in bringing up and down our huge bags from the rooms. On the other hand, had only satisfactory experience with the wi-fi and the driver provided by the hotel for our sight-seeing tour within Kalimpong. Though the driver provided by the hotel for our drop from Kalimpong to Murti was very helpful and good. In summary, we had a lovely stay at Shikher with a 5 yr old kid and sure. Citizen parents and would strongly suggest others for having the experience of the hospitality of the team led by Thirag and Bhusan.

For budget tourist, it's good for family. Warm welcome by front desk and service is good.
Room size means tough to fit for 3 persons.

Well maintained guest house with helping staff and good quality food was served, perfect location and views of Kanchanjangha.
Fit for two adults only, the bed will be small if one child is with adults, otherwise all were very good for leisure.

Little away from the town but share cabs available. Extremely peaceful with beautiful vistas all around. Good food and extremely good service by Bhushan. Overall a great stay. Special mention of owner Vanessa
