Review Of Sheen Woods Chalets, Tangmarg (Gulmarg)

Location is good. Property looks good too. Room heaters are there but they do not work, instead they have electric bed heaters which was great. But it was only for the double bed and no such heating system was provided for the person sleeping in the sofa cum bed. And even the blanket which was provided for the 3rd person was dirty. TV was not working. Manager asked me how was the stay, I said good but there were some problems too then he replied give us good reviews otherwise I too will give you poor rating!! He said it jokingly but it was needless to say.. and one suggestion is that these people should learn some more hospitality etiquettes rather than trying to be over friendly.

Food was good. The property wasn’t at per with the price. This is a property worth 5k to 6k at the best. The WiFi is problematic. Otherwise, they have rooms with good valley view. They have 3 buildings at present, so try taking rooms at the latest building. The beds and pillows are average.

Property location is good, so is the property. price wise bit steep compared to the amenities. Overall nice experience.

We visited on 26th jan 2025, it was raining there. But it snowed in next day and became very magical. Chalet has spacious rooms, with all basic amenities like bed warmer, room heater, conduction warmer, warm water supply. Food option was limited. Power cut off was frequent but had generator backup. On day of our return whole path was covered with 2 feet of snow, so our cab couldn't come to location. However hotel boys came to our rescue and carried our 2 suitcases of 15kg each on their shoulders n walked 1km to main road. This win our heart. Being near to Gulmarg, this is really a good n cheaper option but not advisable for old people n children to visit in winter during snowfall, as getting medical aid is tricky.

The hotel is located in a very strange place and there was no lighting at night i asked them pols switch on the outdoor lights so that guest will reach safely and easily, secondly the food was not good.

THIS PLACE IS NOT ACCOMMODATING, THE OWNER IS HUNGRY FOR MONEY! AND HE IS SO RUDE!! DONT COME TO THIS HOTEL! IF I CAN ONLY RATE IT -100M! WE SPENT ALMOST 10,000 HERE AND ITS NOT WORTH IT!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL! EVEN I AM A FOREIGNER, I WILL NEVER COME BACK TO INDIA BECAUSE OF THIS! WE HAD A VALID REASON TO CANCEL DUE TO SICKNESS, WHO WOULDN’T WANT TO GO GULMARG?! WE DONT HAVE A CHOICE BUT TO CANCEL BECAUSE WE CANNOT AVOID SICKNESS! ALSO, WE CANCELED IT BEFORE OUR CHECK IN DATE 😤
