Review Of Mahout Resort

Since the resort is reachable only by Jeep provided by the resort, the restaurant menu must be much better with more options. The general maintenance of gardens and some areas could be improved. Otherwise it's a good and promising location with scope for more guided activities, birdwatching etc.

We booked this property at the very last minute.. and trust me we don't regret it.. it was the best decision. The property is situated admist dense forest and also has a private waterfall. . The only negative part is they have not mentioned anywhere about the jungle bumpy road that leads to the resort. We had to park our car on the main road at the owners bungalow and then a jeep took us to the resort. It was indeed an adventurous stay. Special mention to the staff of the resort which was very courteous and helpful.. The cook Nisar served us with some delicious local food.. since the resort is situated in the coffee plantation another staff member named Arun helped us in showing us the surroundings and even took us up treeking to the waterfall which was the best experience.. Only a adding little cleanliness and extra staff will attract more travellers as the location is awesome for nature lovers.

Pros- great location. Nice water falls in the property. Cons- poor service. You have to follow up for everything multiple times starting from morning tea. Kitchen opens only by7. 30 which means you dont get anything before 7. 30. They serve dinner only after 9. So pols finish lunch outside. Property is reachable by offroad 3km. If you take their jeep, they take 450 per trip. Note- get prepared for leaches as its really inside the forest

The resort had a great ambience and its amid-st lush green nature. The river stream next to the property is an added attraction. One can hear the birds chirp all the time and we spotted malabar squirrel several times. The cottage was clean and the food was great. The staffs were an excellent bunch and they are always cheerful and eager to serve the guests. We would love to visit again and thanks to everybody including manager, chef and the driver making our stay a memorable experience. Personal vehicles won’t reach the place due to undone roads and hence, accessibility could be a small problem. However, the resort has jeeps plying all the time to pick guests from the main road.

Place was good and experience was awesome. There was shortage of staff since we went during festival time. Apart from that rest everything was great. Caretaker was very helpful.

This is a must place if you are a nature lover and seek the quiet from the city. In short, very friendly, attentive staff, clean rooms, waterfalls, + natural pools within the property, delicious meals and wildlife/birds spotting made a very unique and enjoyable stay. There is an awesome jeep ride to the resort that kids love. The highlight was the wildlife spotting. Few giant malabar squirrels made home here, and lots of bird. Pros: friendly& attentive staff, comfortable rooms, wildlife spotting, waterfalls with natural fish spa, delicious food, few games, walking trails, trekking routes, calm and peaceful atmosphere cons: nothing if you are a nature lover, 15 mins from the nearest highway through estate roads - immediate medical attention could be challenging, no play area for little kids, wifi (but strong 4g network)

Undoubtedly a highly recommended stay. If you love nature, this is your go to place. The resort is situated in a coffee estate with clean and spacious rooms. The food was great too! you'll have to park the car 15 minutes away from the resort and they'll send their jeep to take you to the resort. One of the awesome experiences i must say! not to miss their private waterfall inside the resort itself. Just wow!
