My experience at this hotel was significantly disappointing and differed greatly from the expectations set during booking.
Firstly, the location was misrepresented. , the hotel is actually situated on a remote highway, far from Auroville's main town and any local amenities. This isolated location lacks access to restaurants and markets.
Secondly, the hotel's imagery is misleading. The photos suggest a wide, accessible road, but in reality, the hotel is located down a narrow, unpaved, and muddy lane.
Thirdly, the hotel appears understaffed and poorly managed. The reception area is frequently unlit, creating an unsettling atmosphere. Room service is non-existent, and there is a lack of readily available staff to address guest concerns. This leaves guests with limited recourse in case of room issues.
Fourthly, the room cleanliness was unacceptable for the price point The room and bathroom were visibly dirty, with significant sand accumulation that had not been properly cleaned. The absence of a foot mat compounded this issue, resulting in sand being tracked onto the bed.
Finally, the room size was drastically undersized, particularly considering it was advertised as a 'Heritage Triple Bed.' It was far smaller than expected, barely accommodating two people, let alone three. The space was insufficient for luggage, with even small bags severely restricting movement. The room felt significantly less than 100 square feet.
Overall, the hotel's substandard conditions resulted in a feeling of being misled and deceived.
