I recently stayed at the Jain Sikkim Continental and was impressed by nearly every aspect of my visit. The entire team, from the front desk (excluding one exception, which I'll explain shortly) to the housekeeping crew, were incredibly polite, sweet, and remarkably helpful. The food served was delicious, and the overall service level was undoubtedly of a 5-star standard.
Almost every staff member made my experience memorable—promptly answering questions, assisting with directions, and ensuring a comfortable stay. However, I did have one disappointing encounter with the property manager, whose role seems a bit ambiguous. Despite checking out on time, I had requested a temporary luggage storage for 30-45 minutes. His response was not only unhelpful but also rude, and even after a prolonged negotiation, while he reluctantly agreed to store my luggage, he later denied me access to the general washroom, citing that the staff were cleaning. Additionally, when I asked for guidance on booking an outstation taxi, he directed me to a pathway that led only to local cabs.
To be clear, my criticism is directed solely at this individual. Every other member of the team—especially the female staff at reception—was outstanding, and they truly enhanced my overall experience. I felt compelled to share this feedback both on Google and LinkedIn to ensure future guests are aware of this mixed experience. Overall, Jain Sikkim Continental offers a fantastic experience, but I hope the management takes this feedback seriously to improve guest relations in the future. This is only against the guy (man) who sits in reception, wears spectacles and possibly a manager
