Review Of Giri Cottage Homestay

It was an amazing trip out there. We went there in dusera time so the owner invited us to there house for lunch and dinner which was very heartwarming, he even gave us traditional tikas and gave money as blessings which was also heart touching.

Good Homestay with great location

Balcony was good, excellent view from balcony.
View from hotel room balcony are good. Good space in room. But blanket was not clean properly. Water quality are not good.

It was approx 25 km from Darjeeling. For tour to any place you have to pay. This is not convenient for all.

The food was very deshi with homemade pure ghee and the non-spicy food kept its original flavor of hills.
Hospitality provided by the manager of the homestay was heart melting. The entire team including the cook and all the staffs of the homestay behaved like family members. One can go there if someone wants to get the experience of a home outside home. The food they provided was made of pure deshi ghee, very tasty with original flavor of fresh hill vegetables. As it was not a hotel but a homestay one should not expect amenities like LCD or room heater. But in the evening you will surely enjoy the homemade gobi pakora while sitting in the courtyard listening to the crickets and enjoying the jungle and hills nighttime view. We never experienced such a beautiful heart warming attitude of the staffs and especially the manager.
