Lovely stay in sonada near darjeeling

It was a very pleasant two days that i spent in this family run homestay. It is just south of darjeeling and therefore away from the swarms of tourists that visit darjeeling. What was most welcoming is their willingness to offer a pick up at the main road. This homestay is away from the main road and therefore quiet and peaceful and the air is clean. I was able to take a short cut stairs climb to the main road. There are a couple of tibetan monasteries very nearby which are worth visiting.

Terrible Stay

There was no storage compartments/area for clothes and luggage. They tried to charge us extra money for lunch which we haven't ordered. When we ordered evening snacks (at 6pm, they told us that they won't be able to make anything and in our breakfast (which was included in our package)they served only roti and chole(though we specifically asked them to serve bread- butter and boiled eggs) there was a broken window in bathroom. The co-owner of the property was very intrusive.

Fantastic stay

The property was in the village area, it was beautiful. The area is underdeveloped. It will be more beautiful than Tagore Hill after development. At first, they allotted us a room, the attached washroom was not there. So, I asked them for another room with attached washroom. Then they changed the room. It was nice. Staff was helpful, especially Mr Sanjiv.

View from the property was nice. The market is far from the property, but they provide a vehicle which is chargeable. Food was good. Staff was cooperative. Rooms were neat and clean. All the facilities were nice.

Totally misleading map location and pictures

Though the hotel staff gave us good service the important criteria for me to book this place was location which was incorrect by around 20 km from location shown on map. Also it was nothing as shown in pictures.
