Review Of Machaan Wilderness Lodge - Nagarahole

The overall experience was pleasant — the ambiance, food quality, and service were very good. The staff were friendly and helpful, making our stay comfortable. The nature walk and early morning bird walk were truly enjoyable and added a nice touch to the stay. However, there are a few areas that need improvement: the Wi-Fi coverage is very poor, the road leading to the property is in bad condition, and the food billing system lacks proper structure and clarity. The final billing process also needs to be more transparent and organized. With a few improvements, this place can offer an even better experience.

Nice location in between wilderness and coffee plantation. The staff is extremely helpful. They arrange safari and a variety of activities. Very good hospitality, we would love to come back again

Machaan is truly a luxury retreat. Gave u pure serene vibes from the time we stepped in the property. The staffs are really courteous and are quick in response to enquiries. A special shout out to Mr.Gautham who guided us for the nocturnal walk and bird watching. It’s definitely an experience of a kind. From flying squirrels to giant scorpions, a vibe variety of birds , spiders and butterflies, it’s definitely worth the money. Coming to the food.. we definitely enjoyed evening tea and pakoras. The breakfast spread is truly delicious. Their coorgi selection of menu is definitely worth trying. Also Neju from spa did an amazing foot spa that took away the pain. Overall this is an amazing property to visit if planning stay at Nagarhole. They do offer jungle safari at a cost.

The experience at Machaan wilderness lodge was excellent. This resort provides a unique experience right from the way the check in is handled , the Restaurant services , the rooms and the views. The trio of Shreyas , Gautham and Peter handle the nature walk , nocturnal walk and the bird watching sessions to perfection. They have spent significant time in gaining the knowledge and delectfully explain the flora and fauna of western ghats. The facts explained and their observations are invisible to naked eye. My suggestion is to take these activities to the next level and advertise this activity during the booking. It’s only by chance that we booked this resort. They have placed interesting information on the western ghats at key locations in the resort. For people looking for deeper information they have excellent books. The restaurant offers hygienic healthy delectable food at reasonable prices. Keep up the good work

Location - it was beautiful and away from normal city life. It was set amidst the forest. Very close to safari point. Food - food was very tasty. Breakfast buffet was wide spread with verity of food. For dinner we had ordered veg biriyani and it was one of the best I’ve had!! Stay - we had opted for the room with jacuzzi. Room was aesthetic, clean and comfortable. The balcony was with a lake view which made our stay even special. Staff - staffs were super friendly and they were very helpful in terms of everything.

Well maintained property. Very very prompt service. Food is decent and the portion sizes are good too. The guided walks are truly interesting. The approach road is a bit rough so need to be very careful if in a sedan.

It was well maintained and peaceful resort/ lodge. Guide (goutham)is very much interactive and explains clearly about the beautiful nature and guides properly about the places to visit and also the beauty of own reaort along. All together a beautiful place to spend with family.. rooms are really neat. staffs are very cooperative.

We had a very pleasant stay, beautiful property, and excellent staff. We also got a complimentary Spa, which was awesome 😊. Food was great, especially bfk. Gautam was kind enough to guide us throughout the stay, quite a lot of activities to do in the resort. Must visit.

Location is very good inside the tea estate, lot of birds, good lighting, rooms are good. Food was good. Service was too good. Very good place for family.

it was amazing. the place, property, the hospitality, the food everything. must visit for any family, couple. they even arranged for safari for us. we stayed in the luxe cabin and they were extremely clean and well maintained. but ensure that you get it on first level even though ground floor is great, view from first floor is even better.

The resort is nestled just few kms away from nagarhole tiger reserve. As you enter the resort a wow feeling sets in given the green cover that one sees. The staff are very courteous and helpful. Peter and gautam are particularly warm and welcoming. Their nocturnal walks, nature walks, birds walk are filled with rich trivia. The restaurant staff are also extremely kind. We were late from our outing and they extended the lunch hour on second day and high tea time on the first. Food is 2. 5-3/5. But their breakfast, high tea sandwiches, rasam, sambhar are 5/5. People who are ok with garlic may rate the food 3. 5 or 4/5. I particularly don’t like garlic and no its not that they said they can’t cook without it. I eat very less and only for me i didn’t want them to cook without garlic. My fellow travellers loved their “lasooni daal” ) rooms (luxury canopy cabins) are awesome with a spacious sit out. Extremely clean and comfortable as well. Wifi’s name is “ruinmyholidays” ) we liked the sense of humour. Perhaps it is the first time someone is talking to its guests without requiring to come in the forefront) we wanted to meet the person who came up with this name. You need to have your own car to come to the resort, the approach road is long and rugged with coffee estates on both the sides. One thing which we binged on is: filter coffee. We are from south india itself so its not that we have not filter coffee before, but here the coffee tastes so awesome. The only sound within the resort one can hear is chirping of variety of birds! the different species of birds around the property are breathtaking. Not having to hear honking, caw caw of crows and gutar gutar of pigeons can be so divine i realized only after coming here. If i have to add something to make the whole experience even better, i would perhaps like to have some food in the mini bar, some fruits (since there is no 24/7 kitchen, dental kit and loofah in the bathrooms and a better regulator for the fan (the slowest speed was also very fast. Barring that its all good and perfect. We booked our jungle safari through them and that was also perfectly organized. We were lucky to spot a tiger as well. Will surely visit again and explore their other properties as well.

The room, service, especially the food was too good. The jacuzzi was well maintained and the property is neat with well connected through electric buggies.

From check in till the check out, stay was fabulous. Property managers, service staff, naturalists and others working at the property always take extra efforts to make sure the guests have a very comfortable stay. Rooms are neat and clean with the best of amenities in the middle of the forest. Food at the restaurant was impeccable with the best local delicacies. We order the coorg pork curry, akki rotti, chicken biryani, and we also had the buffet breakfast. All of the food items were extra ordinary.

Location is good, food is excellent and service is good too, they can improve on the room services and helping the guests get the forest entry tickets for the jungle safaris

Property location is good, near the national park. Even though the national park is just 5km away they don't have a paid facility to there. You need to pay 300 for a cab till there. They mention in their facilities about the multi cuisine menu available and the safari being paid but nothing is true. You need to pay for the safari and the menu has very minimal items only with northindian items (that too minimal options. None of their numbers are reachable thus you cannot contact them until you reach your property. Evem after informing them of the issue, they take no steps. The walks within the proper, wifi too poor at some days, don't plan wfh from there. Max to max 1 day stay is enough for the property, property is not huge either.

Excellent resort and very well trained stage. The room was perfect. The resort's location was very close to the safari point.

Not even worth the money paid. Not even a single amenity for kids. Struggled to even get milk at 11pm for my infant.
