The Birchwood Retreat

Overall, the birchwood retreat is good for someone looking to be in a coffee plantation. However, service is too slow...and its over priced for the facilities and offerings. One big problem is it's close to the main road and full night one gets disturbed by honking cars.

Stay was good. The Villas were very spacious, clean and well maintained. The property was peaceful. the plantation walk that they organised was at 10 am, it could have been an early morning walk. it was too hot and sunny to walk at that time.

not worth the price. good for functions, not for individual stay. food is good. overall my experience did not match my expectations. totally overvalued. at the price I stayed, better to go with star resorts. not recommended

The property is beautiful, located little bit away from the attractions or the villages like Kushalanagar or Madikeri. It is owned by secured gates property (away from the rush) ). It has some bike - however not function or condition to use. The food is not that great in restaurant. The breakfast buffet has lot of options. The room sizes are big with balcony, but washrooms can be better cleaned. Overall, I can come back and property is worth staying. Just would be better prepared for certain things.

Property is not well maintained. Food quality and the taste is really poor. Certainly not a great experience for the price.

The property is absolutely beautiful, and our room was neat, spacious, and offered a lovely view of the pool. One area of improvement would be the lighting in the room — it felt a little too dim for comfort, especially in the evenings. The location is a big plus, it’s just about a 2.5-hour drive from Mysore, making it very convenient and accessible for a quick getaway. I truly appreciate the restaurant staff’s courteous and prompt service — traveling with my 10-month-old, it was a big relief to have the team quickly reheat food or deliver baby meals on request. Although the restaurant menu had a good variety, but I do feel the taste could be improved, as we didn’t particularly enjoy most of the dishes we ordered. The property also has game rooms, which were clean, well-equipped, and perfect for some fun indoor entertainment during our stay. One minor challenge was the absence of a lift, which made carrying our baby’s stroller a bit difficult. However, the staff was very helpful and assisted whenever needed. I would also suggest replacing the pool towels, as they seemed quite old and worn out. Other than that, our stay was wonderful, and I especially loved the charming Koi fish at the entrance — such a warm and unique touch.

Outstation resort no transportation facility. Old building no any vibe. Old furniture don't even have a hair dryer in bathroom. No bar. Dirty Pool. Bonafire was outside no view no vibes no music. Room nearby Highway consistent sound of traffic always. Very bad restaurant service. Overy priced. Only suitable for old peoples in group.

Birchwood Retreat, Coorg is a peaceful and beautiful place surrounded by nature. The rooms are clean and cozy, and the staff is friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the plantation tour and loved the relaxing vibe. The food was decent, but the breakfast options could be better. Overall, a great spot for a refreshing getaway!

We had a pleasant stay, The property was very peaceful. I loved the atmosphere around it and it was very relaxing. Food, i wouldn't say great but it was good. Ordered a couple of times during the stay and both times there was something missing and had to ask for it. The staff were very kind and always welcoming.

We stay here for 2 nights. For a family with kids and senior citizens, this place is excellent. There are enough indoor and outdoor games, the food is superb and the rooms are clean and huge. The staff was very supportive and attentive. They also have a mini gym which is great for those who enjoy working out. They also do plantation tour. The property is pet friendly so for us it was a treat 😊

The location of the property is excellent. It's right adjacent to highway connecting kushalnagar and madikeri. The price of the property was high acceptably due to christmas and new year. Checkin was smooth. I was given a briefing of the food court timings, evening snack timing, next day's coffee and breakfast timings, spa timings, and about the recreation facilities available. It was really in a bad shape to hear all these things at the reception counter after a drive of about 5 hours to reach the property. It should be handled more professionally ! cleanliness of the property is good, they have maintained it well. The room was spacious and self contained in its own sense. The sit out area / balcony is good but there's absolutely no privacy as there's a corridor that connects from the reception counter and upto gym and the other rooms @ first floor. Coming from a civil background and an adverse traveller, i prefer some privacy as i had take time off to unwind. They should cover the balcony / sitout area with fold-able pvc chappe, that would enhance the aesthetics as well as privacy. I was bombarded with requests to have my dinner before 10 pm as it's supposed to be the closing time of the restaurant. That's absolutely ridiculous. Next morning, i was at the restaurant at 10. 20 am and the staff gently told me that the breakfast time is over and can't serve. After i confronted them, that they could have called me as they did the previous night, they reluctantly agreed to serve what was left over. I declined to have my breakfast at this property and in fact i had to travel to kushal nagar to have my breakfast. Disgusting. I don't blame the staff for this attitude as they would be briefed to behave like this from the property management. I don't believe in the timing of the inhouse restaurants as we all as travellers would have come to relax, unwind ourselves and not to hear the atrocious and meaningless rules of the property at least as far as the food is concerned. Request the property management to look into this aspect. It's only a suggestion. I'm highly disappointed

We were looking for a pet friendly resort and i found out birchwood. Overall good resort to visit with your pet. Pros: access road to resort coffee plantation experience pet access friendly staff cons: service was too slow food taste was average no bed for pet no food for pet overall, it would have been great if they would include bedding and food for pets, that ways pet parents can plan their visit. It's a beautiful property and i loved the premium pool facing room as it had a huge balcony with a lot of bird activity.

It is a nice property with lot of open space and greenery. It is perfect for pets as they have enough space to roam around. You can get plantation tour and have relax here. Breakfast buffet and property facilities could be better considering the prices charged.

General service should improve

I recently stayed at birchwood retreat resort, and it was an incredible experience. From the moment we arrived, my furry friend and i were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. It was such a relief to find a resort that not only allowed pets but genuinely catered to them. The resort grounds were beautiful, offering plenty of space for both humans and pets to enjoy. We loved the designated pet-friendly areas, where my dog could run and play freely. The plantation walking trails were perfect for our daily strolls, offering scenic forest views that we both enjoyed. The room was comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully equipped with pet amenities, making it a cozy and welcoming space for both of us. They do provide customised pet food during your stay, however they do charge for the same. The staff was incredibly attentive and always had a smile on their faces. They went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed, and it was clear they genuinely cared about both their human and pet guests. They do have few 4 legged friends always roaming the property, so don’t forget to meet them as they are super friendly. Overall, our stay at birchwood retreat resort was wonderful, and i highly recommend it to anyone traveling with their furry companions and looking for an adventure around their plantation. We can't wait to come back for another relaxing and enjoyable stay" -

It was nice stay and experience. Everything was good from check in to check out. Location was nice. Good food at the restaurant.
