I recently stayed at Sai Jashan Hotel, Shirdi, with my wife for one night on 14th September 2025. Unfortunately, our stay was marred by an unpleasant experience at the reception and substandard amenities.
At check-in, the receptionist, Mr. S, asked us for identification documents, which we promptly provided, including my passport that clearly states our marital status. Despite this, he questioned us further in a manner that made us uncomfortable. From that moment onward, his demeanor was suspicious and unwelcoming whenever we encountered him.
The next morning, when I enquired about arranging a taxi to the station, he dismissively suggested we take an auto instead of making any effort to assist. Only after I firmly pointed out his rude and reluctant behavior and mentioned that I would write a review did his attitude change — which is not how guests should be treated.
Additionally, the toiletries provided in the bathroom were not up to the mark. The hotel appeared to use cheap products filled in branded bottles (such as Ignis), which reflects poorly on the quality standards maintained.
Such experiences are unacceptable in a property of this category. Staff members, particularly those at the reception, must be trained in basic hospitality etiquette and encouraged to treat guests with respect and professionalism.
On a positive note, the other hotel staff were courteous, and the restaurant team at Basil Leaves delivered impeccable service that made us feel welcome.
Considering both the negative and positive aspects of our stay, I would rate this hotel 3 stars.
Hotel Sai Jashan Shirdi - Where blessings & comfort meet
Dear Mr. Nabajit,
Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback about your recent stay with us.
Please allow us to clarify that as per hotel policy and government regulations, ID verification is mandatory at the time of check-in for the safety and security of all our guests. In your case, the difference in last names on the IDs created some confusion, and our team was only trying to ensure proper verification. We regret if this process caused you any discomfort — it was certainly not our intention. Our priority is always to avoid any suspicious activity and maintain a safe environment for all our guests.
Regarding the toiletries, we would like to reassure you that we use only branded products and are strictly against practices such as refilling cheap product or misrepresenting items. To help reinforce your trust, we would be more than happy to share proof of purchase (such as supplier bills) if needed.
On a positive note, we are pleased to hear that you appreciated the service from our restaurant team and other staff members. Your kind words for them mean a lot.
We thank you once again.
Regards,
Team Sai Jashan
