Review Of Hotel Dhauladhar, Dharamshala (HPTDC)

Stayed for 2 days. Enjoyed a lot. Good venue and excellent service.

Great hotel in the middle of the town with parking space. Food quality was good.

Loved The ambience of The place. I did a short trip with my sister. Staff was courteous and also The food was amazing esp. The butter chicken. Would love to stay there at The next chance.

Food served here was too good

The hotel has a great location and the rooms were very clean and spacious. The only slight back draw was and I think it will be there with most government hotels is that the building is old and has just the basic amenities.

Hotel hauled Dharamshala is one of the best accommodation when visiting Dharamshala situated at Kotwali bazar and near to bus stand, one can easily reach there rooms are well built with an old English charm. Food is good, try for Himachali cuisine like Khatta mutton, Madeira, etc Mcleodganj is only 9 km wherein you can visit famous Bhagsunag temple and waterfall, Dalai Lama temple, etc.

The staff was very helpful. They brought be a phone charger as I had left mine at home. The food was nice and The room was clean.

Pathetic service. Restaurant service is too bad. Food is of low quality. Doesn't fit for tourism Hotel at all in any circumstances.

Food needs little improvement, rooms need renovation.
Room not properly insulated, even after doors windows closed, The cold air was coming in.

We stayed in deluxe AC room at top floor. Basically all rooms of deluxe category and Kangra suites has good valley view. Rooms are big, with TV and balcony. Bathrooms are also big and clean. Hotel is old but well kept. All staff are working with smiling face and services are prompt as I experienced. It has a good restaurant which serves tasty food in varieties. You can enjoy your food in-room or in-restaurant, specially at open air place just outside the restaurant in the lap of nature. Hotel is strategically located at the middle of the market area not all bazaar for easy accessibility of all amenities but your stay will not get hampered by noise or hazards. Highly recommend this hotel for an enjoyable stay with family and friends.

The hotel although idle for its location and view, is very poor in its services and food. It is way too expensive and is not at all worth spending money on. The hotel does provide decent accommodation but that too is spoiled under the shadow of poor and unhealthy conditions and services.

ItÂ’s the best hotel in Dharmashala. Rooms are very good with wooden floor and carpets. Balcony with a good view, green lawn just outside the room. Nice open air restaurant overlooking valley and ranges. Good bar, centrally located in Dharamshala. ItÂ’s a perfect hotel in a reasonable price and I am sure one will definitely love it. The only catch is that you have to book it at least a 5-8 days in advance during season as it remains almost packed. Strongly recommended.

"The Dhauladhar - HPTDC" was one of worst Hotel I seen. It was dirty, dingy. The room had rising damp on all the walls, the carpets were smelling bad odour of mildrew , the whole room had pretty bad smell. Now I am in Dalhousie and so far Hotel is excellent but so far hot water is not working and hotel staff are looking in to it.

This hotel is a bit pricey for what you get, but the other things make up for it. It has a nice restaurant and staff is friendly and washrooms are not luxury but manageable. Overall if money is not an issue, it is a nice and quite experience in Hotel Dhauladhar.

The Dhauladhar is located at a prime location in Dharamshala. Bus stand is nearby (you can take a flight of stairs to lead u to the hotel from the bus stand). The staff is pretty cordial, will arrange for a check-in for u even before your check-in time i.e 12 noon if rooms are available and the best part is they do not even charge you for that extra time. Food is tasty. Ambience is good for a govt tourist resort. The best thing about Dhauladhar is the breathtaking view of the Dhauladhar mountain ranges that you get to see from the hotel. I guess it is better to stay in Hotel Dhauladhar (in Dharamshala) when compared to the ones in Mcleodganj( Bhagsu...etc) from all aspects considered.

The Hotel location is excellent, the rooms clean and housekeeping good. The age and preservation of the facilities are well balanced. Enthusiastic service ever willing to give details and helping guests try local food specialities! A satisfying experience in a spacious, high ceiling suite with all sit-outs of room, restaurant and bar overlooking pleasing views of the valley with mountains as the backdrop.
