Its a fantastic experience being in Lhasa people are so nice and the Rooftop restourent and staff were so polite ... Its been a fantastic time we have spent. Hotel placed on the heart of the Mcl Gunge in dharmshala The Dalai lama Monstry is hardly a walking distance. Lift facility also in place.

The view from the hotel is awesome but inside the hotel rooms are not good. The facilities needs to be improved. They will charge extra for heater but it will not work properly. Staff is very humble and caring. So overall the hotel is an average hotel.

We stayed for 5 nights & on the 3rd day we decided to ask for another room as our room was cold & heater was chargeable at Rs. 150/day. We were swiftly shifted to another room with good amount of sunlight. Food was average & room was nice with mini bar (though empty). The hotel owner Mr. Shaukat Bhat was really a gentleman as he called for a taxi on our departure & even paid for it by himself. Also he called us when we were waiting for our bus as we forgot our charger in the room. We were overwhelmed when he told us that he is coming to hand over it to us & he really did within 10 mins. All the good work goes to him & staff who were helpful throughout. God bless!

Very conveniently located. Service was very pleasant. Rooms were quite clean although they didn't have room heaters and we had to pay to get one. Would've been better if they had parking facilities as well. Breakfast was good. Would definitely recommend.

Location was superb, travelling to and from is an issue however if you own a vehicle or are visiting there for few days taxi should be fine. You can even hire a bike and have a chilling driving experience around the city. Hotel staff very generous and helpful. Would visit again for sure :)

Hotel is good but less option for breakfast and room was on third floor, so other rooms members voice coming at my room and vice versa. Nice view of dharmshala from terrace. Hotel service providers are good and very supportive. This is cost effective as well.

We booked through MMT as our trusted travel booking site from our previous experiences. Our plan was sudden hence could not study or make an itinerary. As our check-in date was Christmas eve and a weekend too. We thought we will plan after reaching there. Due to fog, train was late, hence we reached the hotel in the evening. Then the nightmare started. The hotel was located in a very odd place much away from McLeodganj on the way to Dharamkot. Dharamkot was far away too. The hotel was located in a steep, narrow ledge away from the Dharamkot road without easily noticeable sign board. Our driver, though he knew the exactly location went crossing it because first because of a small signboard and second construction activity going on. The entire place was a mess, dirty, muddy. (Though the owner later said that he had stopped the construction activity temporarily due to Christmas eve. Next was check-in. The staff were very confused. Finally, we could convince them that we had a booking for two nights. We went in the room. Geyser was not working. They refused to admit and told it will take time to warm up and indicator lights were not working. Please note that the water supply was from the hills directly and water was very cold otherwise. Later after quite some time, it was discovered that their "secret switch" was not on. They informed that heater was 500 bucks extra. We agreed because it was cold there. Again, switching on the heater was another fight episode with waiting time. After this tiresome fights and the journey exertion, we were really tired. We thought of trying their restaurant which seemed to be a nice place but almost empty. Food was bad. We ordered chicken clear soup and got washed chicken from chicken gravy in a spicy orange liquid. Awfully bad. We thought of trying safer Indian veg. Food. The tandori roti was stiff and crispy like papad. However the mix veg was at least edible. We went to bed after that. Woke up at 7:30 AM next morning. The view from the window was nice. At 8 AM, we got a call from the restaurant that we need to complete the breakfast quickly otherwise it will be closed. Our room tariff included breakfast. They had limited option. Poha and gobi parathas. Remembering yesterday's event, we ordered parathas. It was again horrible. Gobi parathas where you need to search for gobi stuffing with a magnifying glass. After we went back to the room, we found there was no power. No hot water. No light. Another set of fight started. The owner came and told that his assistant has informed all tenants that there would be no power after 9 AM. It was again a set back. No one has informed us. He got a single call from the restaurant only. They did not believe us. Their assistant vowed that he had informed all. After pleading them a lot, we were given just half a bucket of warm water for two of us. We left the hotel at 10 AM for a short trek towards Gallu temple (as the owner has warned us against going to Triund hill due to expected bad weather). However, on the way, fellow trekkers assured us and took us to triund hill. We spend the night there. (We still had paid for the room at Hotel Gandhi Paradise also). Next day, we started early and reached the hotel at 11:30 AM. We asked them if they can provide us something to eat as part of the complementary breakfast that we were entitled for that day. We knew it was late but anything would do. They refused stating that it was out of their policy. (Oh I forgot, they mention these words "it is out of our policy" very often). We told them we were willing to pay again for the already prepaid food. We also renewed the reservation for another day but this time without breakfast. They gave us some parathas that seemed to be reheated. But we were hungry and that area did not have any food option. So eat them. We went to McLeodganj by hiring a taxi. (Taxi charge is 200 bucks). Taxi not readily available due to its odd location. Returned to hotel after dinner. Asked the hotel for the TV remote so that I can connect my Laptop and watch a movie. They refused. It was out of their policy as their TV were LCD and settings of LCD is complicated hence their staff was not trained for any mishap. We were too tired to argue hence dropped the matter. We moved out of Gandhi paradise hotel which was not a paradise for us but just a hell. We went to another hotel in McLeodganj with a nice and comfortable stay, calm location, yet all amenities and visiting sites at stone throw distance and a much wider view of the mountains. That review will be posted in another thread. To summarise, stay in this hotel if you want to spoil your holidays arguing with the staff and the owner of the committed normal stuffs and end up with a headache. I could have a Bath only once during my stay there for three nights. Also, got a bad review about the owner and the hotel from lot of other people in the town including shop owners and two of my drivers; one of which stayed with me for the next 5 days. So I understood, it was not only with me. It is the nature of the hotel, its owner and his staff. The only thing good was the room decor. But the level of dust, non hygienic condition made me give it average rating. We had to wash the dust from taps before using it for the first time. The electric water kettle had black precipitates from earlier tenants that was not cleaned. We cleaned it ourselves later. Did not want to argue with the staff.

Room is big and well organised. Bed very cozy. Heater powerful. Bathroom was clean and good size. Staff is simple. Service was quick. There is a communication gap at Reception level. Room cleaning message was not conveyed to the staff. But staff worked quickly once requested. Restaurant food was good. Restaurant service was better than the quality of food. One suggestion for tea coffee in room. Please keep 4 tea bags instead of 2. Rest is fine.

We had a comfortable stay and the best part about the place is its location .. The cooperative staff made it a more pleasant experience . . Most amazing was the complimentary breakfast which serves awesome aloo parathas. It has all the required necessities for travellers and is an affordable deal
