A 3-star equivalent property in McLeodganj with 59 moderately spacious rooms, great staff, good food and decent views. It was one of the top rated properties. It is about a 10 min drive away from the McLeodganj market. The hotel is built on a hill, across multiple floors and wings. Their check-in time was 2 PM, but they allowed us to check-in early at 10:30 AM itself. The staff was clearly the most memorable part of our stay, every single one of them was courteous, responsive and more than willing to help in any way they could. The rooms were reasonably spacious and clean, had a small balcony overlooking the hills and an AC-cum-heater, which was quite effective during the cold. There was just one restaurant-cum-bar and the food was pretty good, nothing to complain or write home about. The breakfast spread had a mix of freshly cooked North Indian and South Indian items, eggs and dosas to order, breads, fruits, salads, cereal, juices, etc. My favorite items were the parathas and egg-preparations and least favorite was the idli. The hotel also has a tiny swimming pool too cold to swim anyways and a spa. The Sansha spa was clean and well-equipped with 3-4 massage rooms, sauna/steam, showers, changing/locker rooms. The staff was extremely courteous like the rest of the hotel, but the service was disappointing. Firstly, there were just two masseuses and hence, they could only service a limited no. of guests in a day. We opted for a Balinese couples massage and the pressure applied was very less and inconsistent, despite multiple requests to increase it. There was too much oil used and it was overall an under-whelming experience for the price. The steam room was not hot enough and did not lead to any sweat even after 10 mins.
