Disappointing and Embarrassing Experience
I had a very unpleasant experience during my hotel check-in via MakeMyTrip. Firstly, the hotel insisted on two different identity cards and even wrote on a note that check-in wouldn’t be allowed otherwise. This is not aligned with government policy, and as a guest, I was concerned about sharing excessive personal data due to privacy reasons. I did have a valid original ID, which should have been sufficient.
Secondly, after providing the two ID cards, the hotel still refused to allow my stay for more than 2 hours, simply because the booking name (made using a nickname/pet name) didn’t exactly match the name on the ID, even though both IDs clearly verified my identity. The staff was extremely rude and uncooperative, making the entire experience very embarrassing in front of other guests.
This kind of treatment is unacceptable, and I hope MakeMyTrip takes this matter seriously and ensures that partner hotels follow reasonable and respectful policies for guests.
