One-Star Review: Very Disappointed – Mold and Foul Odor in Room
I had high expectations from Effotel by Sayaji in Dehradun, but unfortunately, my stay on the14th Aug'25 was far from pleasant. The room I was given had a serious mold infestation — visible patches on the walls and a musty, damp smell that was impossible to ignore. The stench was so strong it made the room feel unhygienic and uncomfortable to sleep in. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk, the response was lukewarm at best. No meaningful action was taken, and no alternative room was offered. For a property under the Sayaji brand, this lack of basic cleanliness and customer care was shocking. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone until they address the mold problem and improve their maintenance and hygiene standards. Extremely disappointed

Food is very good. Location on main road , easy accesdible for local commute. Rooms are spacious with all good quality towels, clean hygiene maintained.Parking available. Staf is supportive. Overall very good.

Not worth money spent.
Hotel in a narrow lane. I was asked to wait for 15 minutes but eventually they made me wait for an hour for check in @ 03:30 PM. Everyone at reception was busy with their own thing. no welcome drink no Greetings. Booked room with a Bath Tub and paid 5.5K for that which was useless as the tub was leaking. Bathroom too small. Room average. Balcony below average.

Extremely Disappointing Stay – Not Recommended
I Nitesh stayed at Hotel Effotel by Sayaji, Dehradun from 4th to 5th July 2025, and it turned out to be one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The entire property had a strong, unpleasant smell, likely due to dampness throughout the hotel. Water was dripping from the ceiling, which made the stay even more uncomfortable. The room environment felt unhealthy and poorly maintained. To make matters worse, the breakfast quality was extremely poor — far below the standard one would expect from a reputed brand like Sayaji. Overall, it was a deeply disappointing experience, and I would strongly advise against staying here. I give this hotel a negative rating and sincerely hope the management takes serious steps to improve their facilities and hygiene.

It's a great hotel with excellent food, wonderful stay, and fantastic room cleaning. The hotel staff is fantastic, and the service is excellent - very nice. Food delivery is within 10-15 minutes after ordering, and the food is amazing. I'll definitely choose this hotel whenever I'm in Dehradun.

1) No support from staff. They don't have basic amenities. I was suffering from fever. Hotel staff did not has first aid kit. They even didn't knew who is the local General physician near by. 2) Requested them to deliver food as a case as I was suffering from fever and I had ordered food from outside but they did not do it. I understand policy but is humanity above policy. At end I can only say that if they don't have respect for humanity they don't deserve to run hotel 1) No support from staff.
