I think a hotel experience is dependent on how active the staff is. There were several instances that soured my experience:
1- I had an event at the hotel where we had booked the Narmada hall for about 40 journalists. The session was to be followed by lunch at 12:30pm but I was informed that it can only start by 1pm. Several of my guests left but the lunch only started at 1.
2. the room walls are super thin, as a solo traveler, it was almost scary.
3. I wasn't comfortable in the room I was given, so I asked the staff to change it, 1st day they said they don't have any rooms but they'll do it on the next day. next day, they asked me to pack my bags and be ready, after an hour of waiting, multiple calls to reception, multiple hold ups later, they changed my room-rather degraded the option I had originally paid for.
So yeah, it was a bad experience, still giving them average marks.
