It was a wonderful experience to stay at the Windamere Darjeeling. Excellent location, the vintage charm and most importantly the hospitality of the staffs are the highlights of the stay. Definitely going to come back to this dreamy place very soon.

Our stay was excellent at Windamere. We stayed at observatory house building. Right from view from room to room quality abd amenities everything was top notch. Special mention to the behaviour of each staff. Finally food quality was mouth-watering and that too at reasonable price

Windamere transports you to the British colonial era- the decors, furnitures, fixtures, meticulously done rooms, curated gardens.... every inch of the property oozes heritage. I feel the only deterrent was the breakfast. Windamere, being a 150 years old British establishment who prides itself in maintaining the colonial charm should not indulge into trying to cook dhosa-idli, chola-batura or luchi-puri. None of them tasted authentic whereas the continental part was as good as it could be. So they should concentrate more on their specialties skill rather than trying to make everything for everyone!

located at the primest of location just beside the Mall, easily accessible still by car. rooms are well maintained, food takes you back to the days of the British Raj as well as the modern tastes. the serene beauty of the environment with the colonial hangover embedded in the very structure of the establishment is an experience in itself. staff are very courteous and prompt and share anecdotes of famous dwellers of the days gone by..

We were absolutely delighted after the -in! warm was the welcome with the lovely and humble attitude of the hotel staff. So, was the charming colonial architecture of the property! i must say that this is a must visit hotel for the people who love colonial hangovers and old world charm! food was equally good served in proper crockery and cutlery. familyWe stayed in a quarter which was outside the backgate. Besides the road leading to mahakal mandir. Breakfast was not great. The hotel was not worth the exhorbitant price we paid.
