The cottages are amazing - very clean and cozy rooms with a swing in the balcony. They open into a lawn facing the lake - you can catch the sunset from there. incredibly peaceful and relaxing. the property has options for gaming, and the restaurant has swing based seating by the lakeside, too. Events hosted by the team are announced on a WhatsApp group.

It was good but the room description was false, it’s not 300 sq ft by any chance and it has a shared lawn and it also doesn’t have any swing outside

Beautiful property, here’s below aspect of rating . Rooms: 3.5/5 for cleaned hygiene rooms but washroom sizes are small & depend upon room category you choose. Amenities: 5/5 for fabulous indoor & outdoor amenities & spaces. Safety: travel during day time as access to the property is from hilly roads so no streetlight but once you’re within campus it’s safe & secure. Food is good & staff is very polite & friendly. Access to the property is quite a task as roads are in very bad shape after the highway exist. Overall good experience, a place to visit with friends, as a couple or solo traveler.

It was a very badly maintained and run down facility, the rooms are in a poor condition, the AC's don't work. The location is wonderful but the property itself is a disappointment.

Excellent Property of Zostel with Club garden pool cottages and lake view

Property’s view was good but the service was terrible beds where sticking there was no cleanliness at all..... BAD EXPERIENCE also for each and every amenities you have to keep deposit which is nonsense.. I understand the name says Zostel but treatment was like terrible hostel

We had a very disappointing experience While the food was decent, the overall service and property conditions were extremely poor. The rooms were untidy, had a bad smell, and the toilets were not cleaned properly. The property is not even worth per night, yet , which felt completely unjustified. The only positive aspect is its location near Pawna, but everything else made the experience not even worth 1 star. To make matters worse, there were inventory issues Because of this, our group had to split between two different properties on the same day due to non-allotment of rooms. This was highly inconvenient, and we eventually did not even stay at the property. Overall, we are really disappointed with both the property as the experience was frustrating and far below expectations.

At 2 AM, someone forcefully banged on our door, repeatedly rang the bell, and even tried to unlock it with a key. It genuinely felt like a break-in attempt. Whether it was a mistake or not, it was extremely disturbing and left us feeling unsafe in the middle of the night. Incidents like this should never happen in a hotel, and better security measures are a must.

everything is so good I love the view cottage and I love to go again

The place was very calm with some amazing views of pawana lake. Had great time in the zostel.

I stayed in the most luxurious cottage facing pawna lake. However, basic amenities/maintenance was lacking , property and view is good though The view was great from room and the service was prompt when asked. However, maintenance was poor. The place was stinking It was raining when we went there and the roads were not well maintained. The toiletries were not in place, balcony is all wet and could have been better for the premium room which is expected to be on par with 5 star hotel.

Zostel is a Great place , the Lake View is unbelievable . Food is not that great but they have a Playing Area that's Good too . They have a lot of Everyday Group Activities which makes it fun . Highly Recommend the Cottage Stay.

The property itself is decent, but for a “Plus” property, my expectations were higher. Dorms: Cleanliness was below standard — lights in some areas weren’t working, there were no wipers or tissues in the washrooms, and no provision to hang wet clothes. Café: Food quality was below average, yet prices were extremely high. Atmosphere: The biggest letdown was the crowd. The property catered largely to big groups, often with an average age above 40. There were groups of men drinking openly, which killed the backpacker vibe, and large family groups (10+ people) occupying common spaces. This is surprising since Zostel’s policy clearly states bulk bookings aren’t allowed. The focus here seems heavily skewed toward private rooms, leaving dorms feeling neglected.

The property is located right on pawna lake and it offers some mesmerising views, especially during monsoons. The food options are the restaurant are tasty too and there’s a lot to do at the property. Our highlight was the lake view jacuzzi experience in our room! Definitely worth staying at zostel plus lonavala.

The property was just beside the Pawna Lake offering a serene view. Stayed in a Mixed dorm and had a comfortable experience. Great place to hang out with friends and loved ones. Definitely recommend. Just take a note that the place is in a remote location from the Lonavala town

Property is situated remotely, by the lake side with a beautiful view. In-house food is amazing with no options near by and you will have dj nights & live music planned by the zostel. Recommend to reach early because of the how remote the places is, you can’t expect any of your network provider signals except with minimal signals for Vodafone. There is wifi for all rooms but due to unpredictable weather it is up and down. Property is excellent and view from the cottage room amazing.

There is no doubt that the location of the property is stunning — surrounded by nature and offering a peaceful retreat. However, beyond the location, the experience was extremely disappointing. I stayed in their suite, which I had expected to be their best offering, but it was far from acceptable. The bathroom walls had visible water seepage, creating a damp and unpleasant environment. The towels provided were so old and worn out, it felt as though they had been in use since colonial times — completely unfit for guest use. The room itself had a persistent foul smell, the pillow covers were stained and yellowed, and basic amenities like the switchboard, TV, and kettle were either broken or non-functional. To make matters worse, the property is in a complete mobile network dead zone. While they claim to provide Wi-Fi, we had no internet access throughout the night, which felt quite isolating and unsafe given the remote location. Overall, the poor maintenance, lack of hygiene, and unreliable connectivity made for a very unpleasant stay. I would strongly advise others to consider alternative accommodations.
