When scrolling through travel apps in search of your next weekend getaway, it's hard not to hit pause and admire the eye catching decor at The Blue Door. Chances are you're reading this after seeing the pics, wondering, is it really as good as it looks? As a guest there, I can wholeheartedly confirm it's better than the photos suggest. The chic and homely decor is only what greets you. What you'll soon discover is they also have a world class chef that can prepare anything under the sun. We turned our weekend getaway into a proper food fest with some amazing meals every day. Do try their mutton raan which is an in-house special! The staff is incredibly friendly and always available to accommodate the smallest of requests. Overall, this place has pretty much everything one could ask for to make your stay as comfortable as possible. And I really need to hand it to the host, Kavita who has such a wonderful and creative eye for detail. Every element of decor is so well thought out and personalised. I can't wait to be back here soon!

Good for family, good food , good staff .

This is a very peaceful location away from city's cacophony. If you want to relax then this would be a good option. The interior decoration is wonderful. Staff is very polite and responsive. Food is good and they would customise it according to our needs. Don't miss the little trek to the riverside nearby. You can have breakfast in the river or can have a barbecue night there.

One of the best home stays in India ! Book without a doubt ! The food was delicious, staff was friendly and the property of gorgeous and located near a river where you can go to hike or have Maggi in the river. The owner is very welcoming and friendly.

The staff was incredibly welcoming, ensuring our stay was nothing short of superb. A heartfelt thanks to vipin, vinod, manoj, rakesh, vishal, and bhuvan, who were always there to assist us. The food was a delightful treat, with the local pahadi cuisine adding a flavorful twist to our meals. There was never a dull moment with activities like pool, carrom, and so much more to keep us entertained. A special mention to rakeshji for the serene river walk, which was a truly unforgettable experience. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of city life, blue-door is the perfect retreat for a relaxed and comfortable holiday. If you’re seeking tranquility, this is your ultimate escape!

The whole team at the blue door are excellent, kavita ji has been an amazing host. The hospitality was top notch. The staff made sure we had a comfortable stay. The property is really good looking and in a very peaceful place. The room's theme was really good, it was good to go around the property near the river. We were disappointed with the food which made our whole experience not much good. Even if the place is not good but if you get the best food you will never forget the food experience and ignore the stay. I will give 2 stars for the food but 5 for the stay.

The property is excellent, and the staff even better. Beautifully done up place, and the staff was very welcoming and willing to accommodate any specific requests. Spent the best couple of days in peace and tranquility among the hills in the blue door luxury homestay in dehradun. Travel-ling to the blue door is literally like passing through the city for a short while and smoothly landing into the laps of the hills. The gracious hostess kavita is bound to put you in a place of comfort, as she makes sure to meet up the occupants as they saunter in. Ideal place for family, cosy meet-ups for friends, kids friendly and a close warm family get together, food is a special mention. The generous chef of blue door, mukesh was always accommodating of the diverse kind of food we wanted. The freshly prepared food of diverse cuisine including the local pahadi ones are a big draw. The blue door will spring number of pleasant surprises on you. It has ample carefully curated space all over the property making it an ideal place for a workation. The staff with mentionablea like vipin, rakesh are extremely kind and hospitable and takes care of even the smallest needs of the occupants. As for the rooms, they are spacious and tastefully done with all amenities running 24 hours. All in all this ‘jungle lodge’ is a diamond find and a must visit for those who are in search of peace, good healthy food and kind, happy people around.

My name is Rishav Nahata(Jain). I hail from Kolkata West Bengal, I travelled to Dehradun and stayed at this beautiful place hidden away from the horns & honks , busyness of the city like a GEM ! A perfect place where you can relax spent time !! I went with two of my sisters!! My stay was adourned with most positive & elixir of a woman with a golden heart, her behaviour & staff courtesy to humble tasty food , To her mothers special HING ACHAAR (My personal favourite). The place offered a splendor of time & plethora of nature to wherever the eye to go & the room absolutely cozy & safe !! That’s bieng said I am a frequent traveller to Dehradun & I am definitely staying at this most beautiful property every time I visit even if it’s for a DAY ❤️ all the love to my property owner &her team. I sincerely hope they keep up this wonderful journey . Where the story is good !! Let’s get to the bad part shall we ? ( The Reason For 4 Stars). Where it is unfortunate but I didn’t like just 2 things which I saw :- Firstly when we were leaving I saw housekeeping getting the rooms ready for the next guests , what I saw shocked me :- Instead taking off the bed sheets,quilts etc !! They actually reversed it /flipped it & put it up on the bed back again. VERY UNHYGIENIC. Secondly the billing machine doesn’t work at all !! It’s all CASH in an all UPI / cashless ERA !! Lastly Getting Out can be challenging as they’re no OLA /UBER in this place ! So in case if you’re like three of us depending on OLA / UBER it’s a trouble some so get your own transport if you’re planning to take a stroll to the city. That bieng said I AM DEFINITELY GOING THERE AGAIN ❤️😇

Very good ambience. All the rooms are very well maintained. Food was great, specially the tandoori items. The staffs are very good. The living room and the play rooms are best part of the property. All the items are handpicked and reflects the good taste. And over and above the owner ms. Kavita. She is a great host. In totallity a great experience. Worth for money

If you are looking for a best luxury boutique property nearby dehradun, one must visit blue door. Me and my friends really had a wonderful experience during our stay. It’s amazingly located in the lap of mountains and nearby to the river. Once you enter the property you will be fully engaged with the wonderfully decorated and well maintained rooms, open terrace, lobby and all other areas of the blue door property. Hats off to the owner ms kavita who not only shown per passion in beautifully designing and decorating the property but also ensured the true hospitality with warm gesture to the visitors. Food and other services by entire staff was commendable. Highly recommended to visit to cover all of your expectations from luxury property including photographs / selfie lovers because every corner of this property is worth capturable for your memories.

I had a wonderful stay at the property. I had a little concern with my room initially which was resolved by the owner swiftly. The owners are wonderful people, warm and welcoming and always available for any assistance. It felt like a home away from home. Everything about this place was simply beautiful. The room designs and and the interiors are gorgeous. The host kavita ji has built this place with so much love and care. The whole place is so tastefully done. She has paid attention to even the smallest of details. What we really liked was the effort she made to have a genuine conversation with each of her guests. She introduced everyone and made sure that we all had a good time. The staff is so courteous and nice. The food was delicious. Everything we had there was so sooo good. Rajma chawal, pizza, pakoras, pasta, biryani. All of it was freshly prepared by the chef in cold pressed mustard oil. The chef did a brilliant job. We did a little trek to the river that we can see from the property and spotted so many beautiful birds on the way. This has to be one of the best places i have ever been too. I cannot wait to take all my friends and family here.

The stay at blue door was superb. It was so comfortable and the food is so tasty. It was my parent’s anniversary and it was celebrated in the best way. One of the best hosts i have ever met
