We recently stayed at Taj Fateh prakash palace Udaipur and were left extremely disappointed — and honestly saddened — by the experience (given our previous taj experience, and the pride associated with it being an indian brand). While the location and view are absolutely stunning, the service and hygiene were shockingly below Taj standards.
The biggest concern: bed bugs in the room. My wife and our 1-year-old baby were both bitten. This is completely unacceptable at any hotel, let alone one carrying the Taj name. We expected comfort, not health hazards. Room no. 506.
Moreover, the staff service was well below the usually impeccable Taj experience. There was a noticeable lack of attentiveness and professionalism, which added to our frustration. The pool side restaurant and bar staff specially. The breakfast staff also disappointed us many times, and sometimes pleasantly surprised us (gave all child food for free, also complimented us with some free breakfast, which we truly appreciate). However, I re-emphasise this is TAJ.
We’ve always trusted the Taj brand for luxury and care — this experience has really shaken that trust. We hope the management takes this seriously and ensures no other family goes through what we did.
