Nice place to stay with peaceful environment

Peaceful and isolated location, far away from noise and pollution. Located in the midst of a tea plantation with numerous trees, many musical birds, lion tail macaque s, elusive barking deer, sambar deer, bison, porcupine, wild dogs, very obliging, dedicated, helpful and ever-smiling staff. Food cooked as per our instructions very homely, nutritious and tasty. Been there three times and will not hesitate to go there once again.

If you want to get away from the busy city life, this cottage is a heaven for you. Entirely different environment. Life along with nature is so excellent. Staffs Shekar and Arun are so helpful in all aspects.

Great place for anyone who loves nature and wildlife, the service is too good. You get some amazing home made food

Property location good, best to stay for privacy.

The property have 2 rooms and its isolated and peaceful. I recommend for wildlife, bird & macro photographers. Its expensive for photographers. The property doesn't have any activity other than nature walk and photography and sightseeing. The food is basic and simple but very expensive for 2 people for 2 days(for chapathi, vegetable, rice, sambar, rasam and papad).

We had our apprehension s when we decided to book this place. Even the first look, it was an old bungalow which was in its primitive worn out look which harboured the reception and dining hall. The cottage which was offered to us was clean and very well kept. It was a soothing experience to be in the middle of a forest with many lion tailed macaque, giant squirrels and variety of birds. The food was minimalistic with dishes but something which I can describe only as awesome. Can't thank enough Mr. Shekar and Mr Natarajan who took care of us very well.

The Phuthutottam estate stay was very good, enjoy the peace and pleasant weather, take a break with walk, trekking along estate forests, plantation with the advices or accompany of staff. The service staff were courteous, made our stay more comfortable and enjoyable one.

Couldn't ask for a better room. The service we got from the place was too good and we make this as our first option if we have a plan to visit Valparai again

It was very pleasant stay, food is awesome, service is too good. Mr. A navel and mr. Nature is always there with their helping hands. In dinner you should try their dessert preparation. At the last you should not miss the morning 2 hours trekking inside the property. Porcupine and leopard also available, but to watch that you should trek in the night.
Puthuthottam Annexe located inside coffee plantations and plenty of woods just like forest, always you will hear chirping sound of birds and the visiting lion tailed macaque. Inside the bungalow rooms are kept very neat and clean. A big kitchen and a dressing room is available inside the bungalow. Food prepared by cook. Nature is very tasty and you will love it. You will be able to see variety of birds, barking dear, lion tailed macaque, mall bar giant squirrel, bison etc.

In general good place for bird watch trekking. Hospitality was excellent. Bunch of good service minded people. Breakfast was delicious . Not suitable for elderly and disabled. Overall different experience. Adventurous and would recommend.

This is my 2nd visit to puthuthotam annexe and we friends really enjoyed the stay and the climate was very chill . Particularly this puthuthotam annexe is inside forest, so no air pollution, sound pollution, fresh air, and beautiful sounds of birds rooms were neat and clean, food was excellent just like home food, and the staff were very kind and has a very good attitude, this makes us to come again and again hope to visit this place again during winter.

If you are a nature enthusiast and looking for a raw experience with no commercial expectations, this place would blow your mind. In the midst of a lush green forest / tea estate, this place is a time travel. The sounds of Malabar Squirrels, Barking Deers & Various birds would be a orchestra if you love them. In the nights, your room would be protected with electric fence to keep you at a safe distance from the wild. The main building is a British establishment which has a nostalgic charm to it. The only 2 Rooms of the property is located at a walkable distance from the main building and if you're weak hearted - chances are you might not appreciate this raw beauty and get terrified rather. We extended our stay for one more day and still felt like it wasn't enough. The caretakers were kind and hospitable - well, our expectations were not Pizzas & Grilled Sandwiches, we were happy with the Egg Dosas for Breakfast and the Rice & Curry for the Dinner. A totally memorable experience - both Valparai and Puthuthottam estate. We're visiting again. Cheers!

Little bit expensive for the price you pay. Service and location is really nice. Clean rooms, linen and bathrooms. Lion Tailed Monkeys will visit you for sure sometime or the other. They are very friendly.

Our Stay was Very nice. Appreciated the Hospitality. Only area to be improved is Food options. Choices are very less. I would Request the team to arrange any kind of off-road ridings, if they can do. Would like to Recommend others.
