Review Of Desert Himalaya Resort

The food was great but the tents were really cold and for some reason they turned off the heating line during the night !

I recently stayed at the Desert Himalaya Resort for one night, and it was a delightful experience. The resort itself is beautifully maintained, and the ambiance is very relaxing. The highlight of our stay was the stunning view that the property offers. Nestled in a picturesque location, the scenery from our room was simply breathtaking. The staff were incredibly courteous and ensured that all our needs were met promptly. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities. The food served was delicious, adding to the overall positive experience. Overall, our stay at Desert Himalaya Resort was pleasant and memorable.

Considering the cost, the stay was very average. They don’t even have phone in executive tents for room service, every time you have to walk to the reception for anything. Expect a couple, majority of the staff are very casual and unprofessional. The property is very nice, but poorly maintained.

Avoid this over-marketed but pathetic property. To begin with, no sign boards to find a way to this property. I was lucky with my Ladakh chauffeur. Next is this property is actually fit to be called a camp and not a resort as it doesn’t have a basic room heater at a place where night temperature reached 2degree in May 4th week. Some tents have a room heater. The hotel manager says they are installing but under process. But I ended up coughing the same price for a tent without a room heater. Next is this is such a resort where in hot water in the bathroom is available only between 6-8 am. Imagine getting up such an early on your vacation around a single-degree temperature. Some good points are they have a young and energetic service team who serve you with your needs as long as management supports them. And this resort doesn’t have a hair dryer or water kettle. Again boys will run with a hot water flask whenever asked for. I suggest if this is a kind of tent experience, then please check out other camps for half of the price. Other vise check properties like stone edge, and the creek kind of wonderful properties! last but not the least, they have pathetic facilities for your rented car drivers who are the people who can make your trip memorable if are hiring one, so again bummer. They are still constructing those facilities. So another 3months.

The property is in the midst of nature and our premium tent was comfortable. The food was fine. The property needs to work on cleanliness and hygiene across the board, particularly in and around the dining area. Staff were lovely, but there was no one to help early in the morning for help with the luggage. Staff do not follow covid protocols in virtually all aspects. The breakfast time was written as 7 am, but there was no breakfast served till 7. 30 am which is late for people checking out early. The heater worked up to a point in the night, but then got switched off when the generators were stopped. This made the tent awfully cold.

Good food, good service and absolutely clean. A small improvement can be to have heaters in all the tents. Otherwise perfect place

This resort is located in a very good location, but needs to seriously improve their hygiene standards. The common areas are pretty dirty and badly maintained. The tables in the open areas are not evened cleaned. After paying a five star fee, the standards maintained are very low.

Tents very bad, food below average, services terrible, no facilities. The pictures shown are totally different than actual, don't waste your money staying here

15 min distance from Nubra valley, food is awesome, the hotel manager was rude when asked for some discount.

The ambience and the location was good. Food was also good. All over excellent stay.

You may not get many varieties but ok.
Comfortable Stay nice location.

The resort is in diskit and is actually a bunch of tents in a valley which gets very cold and windy in night, a bit scarry for children at night as tent does not give a sense of security. There are no facility in the resort except a play ground but with no sports gear. No intercom to contact reception, for every need, one has to walk down to office and look for people which can be very bothering at night. There is no electricity in night. Only saving grace is good location with awesome views and good quality of food, although fare is limited but quality is very good. Overall Not very good stay for families, better to stay in hundar,

Location is good but not value for money. They charged around 5k for tent. Problem with electricity. Buffet cost is around 600rs per person. Too much costly. Location was awesome ... Cleanliness is OK.

Great location and service. Improvement in electricity supply. Food is good. Tragreat location and service. Improvement in electricity supplynsportation is little difficult. 8 km away from the dessert. Great landscape from the room. Electric supply is poor so too dark at night.

A good hotel to stay and get relaxed with family, Staff at the reception and the restaurant are very co-operative. The garden and parking facility was good. The service was good. Food was good in Ala carte than of Buffet. Close to airport and to the market and the important sites.

Staff at the reception would answer back on any complaints like the room not having being cleaned, Morning tea had to be requested for again and again. Couldn't care less attitude of the staff. The location was very good, but don't opt for the buffet. Ala carte menu was good and cheaper.
