Hotel De Prashant Review
I had a deeply unpleasant experience at Hotel De Prashant, and I strongly urge future guests to proceed with caution. Despite its promising view, this hotel falls disastrously short in every other aspect, leaving me with a sour impression and a significantly lighter wallet.
The Incident:
We initially booked two rooms for a day. Unfortunately, due to a family member falling ill, we needed to extend our stay in one room for a few more hours. I had already paid for an additional day for the second room, but the owner charged an extortionate 2,500 rupees just to continue using the same room, bringing for a room that barely justified a 2,000 rupee rate.
The owner's attitude was shockingly rude and unaccommodating. Given my unwell condition, I didn’t have the energy to argue, leaving me feeling coerced into paying the unfair charges. This behavior was unprofessional and exploitative, completely ruining what should have been a restful stay.
The Room & Amenities:
The room was far from clean—bed sheets were visibly unclean, raising concerns about hygiene.
The hot water system was utterly inefficient. It required running the water for 20 minutes before it would heat up, wasting time and water.
Amenities were severely lacking. For example, they charge an additional 550 rupees just to provide a room heater, which is absurd given the already inflated rates.
The staff’s attitude was unprofessional and outright unruly, further compounding the negative experience.
The Only Positive:
The only redeeming quality was the view from the room. However, a nice view cannot make up for the lack of hospitality, cleanliness, or basic decency from the management.
Final Verdict:
Avoid Hotel De Prashant unless you’re ready to deal with rude behavior, hidden charges, and subpar amenities. This experience left me feeling cheated and deeply disappointed. Save yourself the trouble and look for better options elsewhere.
