A. Among the most sought-after destinations in India, Manali is not just famous for its picturesque splendour and cool climate but also, for temples, markets, cafes and hotels. Situated in the Beas River valley, this quaint hill station is easily accessible from Delhi and Chandigarh. The major modes of transportation are:

By Air: It takes about 1 hour to reach Manali from its nearest airport at Bhuntar, Kullu-Manali Airport. The distance from the airport to Manali is 50km and there are pre-paid cabs available, which will take you to the hotel or resort you have booked prior. Air India is the major domestic airline that flies directly from Delhi and Chandigarh to this airport. The major connecting flights for the hill station from the major cities in the country to this airport are SpiceJet, IndiGo, GoAir and Vistara.
By Train: Manali, being situated at an altitude of 2050m above sea level, has no direct train services. There are trains available from Delhi to Pathankot. It takes around 10 to 13 hours to reach by train. Cabs from Pathankot to Manali take 9 hours to reach. You can easily make hotel reservations before reaching the main town area.
By Road: The distance by road from Delhi to Manali is 554km. It takes about 13 hours to reach by cab. If you opt for bus services from Delhi, it will take 14 hours to reach.
