familyIt was a wonderful experience to stay at ulaar. It is separated from crowds but still provides a comfortable stay. Good food and views of the valley. Host is very gracious and made us feel like staying at a friend's place.

Great Location but Not Value for Money

coupleThe property is at a great location and the host is really nice and welcoming. However, for the price we paid we would’ve expected a few more things. For example, the rooms did not have wifi which was a bit of a bummer. We also had to ask for a few basic things like a dental kit and a mosquito repellant. The room sizes also aren’t as big for what you’d expect for a room that’s priced that high. For the price, the meals (at least 1-2) should be included. The meals sold separately are also priced at the higher end, plus guests can’t cook their own meals – which takes away the home stay aspect and makes it feel more like a hotel. The stay at the property is pleasant but it isn’t exactly the luxury experience that it is shown as. You can get more for the same price at a five-star hotel.

Unlike other homestays and hotels, Ullaar is a travel sustainable property and has taken a pledge to fully implement sustainable tourism practices, consistent with the best environment standards. Ullaar’s numerous awards and recognitions are a testament to its commitment to sustainability, community involvement and authentic experience for its guests. Ullaar has an environmental sustainability vision that includes targets to gradually phase out single-use plastics completely in bathrooms and elsewhere, reduce energy consumption, emissions, water usage and waste. Guests are informed of all these practices followed at the time of their booking. We have limited WiFi on our property due to reasons best known to the Govt. authorities and we have already conveyed our guests concern to them many times. Homestays are not about enjoying luxuries of a star rated hotel but about sharing stories, time and home cooked meals with the host family and other guests. Govt. registered homestays in Uttarakhand are very different from the homestays found in other states where they are managed by the caretakers and kitchen is made available to the guests. But we appreciate your invaluable feedback. As a homestay owner, we are very serious about the voice of every guest. A great deal of effort is put into establishing effective action steps for constant improvement. Do visit us again in future and we shall have a few surprises stored for you. Best.

Picturesque little home stay

familyQuaint and charming little home stay situated in the outskirts of lansdowne. It is nicely done up small property situated at very picturesque location facing valley and on a clear day we can have the clear view of the snow clad mountains. Rooms are nicely done with all the modern amenities expected in a homestay. If one wants to have some time with nature without the hustle bustle of normal hill station then this is the place.

A nice home away from home

familyWe went on a short 3n/2d trip. A very peaceful and serene environment here. The host is a wonderful guy and so are the caretaker and cook. Wifi connectivity to rooms needs improvement as you get weak mobile signal strength.

Fantastic property! Most relaxing & fun family holiday!

familyUllaar Homestay is one of the most beautiful homestays I have been to! The interiors are so tastefully designed, so neat & clean that even if I really wanted to I could not have found a single fault.. and that in a hill station property is really an achievement in itself! The views from the property are lovely and the food is just out of this world! The owner Vicky was such a genuinely warm & nice host that we instantly felt at ease and enjoyed a terrific evening in his company! Mr. Kundan, the housekeeper and were really very efficient, helpful and made us some really tasty meals.. Thankfully we didn’t eat outside much or we would have missed the tasty meals they churned out for us. What I found very thoughtful was that without us even asking, special attention to food & other needs was extended to our 5-year old son. We went for long beautiful walks around the property and in the evening just chilled out in the balcony. It was so peaceful and relaxing! Overall a very rejuvenating and fun holiday! We are definitely going back again and fully recommend it to all those planning a holiday in Landsdowne. And huge thanks to Vicky again!

Beautifully and charming

It was a beautiful stay at ullaar. The location is perfect with a view of the himalayas from rooms and balcony. The host - vicky ji, is warm and interacts with guests and make them feel so special. The food was like home and special local food which i think you can't find anywhere else. It was just the perfect home stay at lansdowne. It's also away from the hustle of the main lansdowne town/mall.

Perfect place for a peaceful getaway

A quiet place in the mountains

familyUllar was the perfect accommodation for a quiet and non-intrusive time in the mountains. Located at a short distance from lansdowne, it was most peaceful and i enjoyed some splendid views of the himalayan range. The house is lovely and quaint, the stone facade makes it very attractive. The rooms are small and have basic amenities, but very clean and well maintained. The food is healthy, very tasty and vicky and his team were very friendly and hospitable. It was a great find and would definitely like to go back there.
