The homestay was not easy to locate. It took me 4 hrs to reach there. It was situated in the backyard of a house at an isolated place in the deep interiors of Malvan in a village named Waiyri. We have booked a standard room (non-ac) but we were provided a single bedroom of 7 feet by 10 feet which didn't even have a window and height was too less (around 7feet). Moreover, it was in a hut. It was too hot and unsafe to live in. There was a small ventilation shaft without a grill from where anyone can enter and a common toilet which was untidy and very dirty. The owner had a small kitchen inside the homestay in the common area between the room and washrooms. We have stayed there for around 13 hours in which the owner entered the room at least thrice without our notice (when we were out for meals & outing). During the night, there were lots of insects, reptiles (4-5 lizards and a chameleon) and frogs inside the room to accompany us. There was no power after 11 pm till 4.30 am. It was at such an isolated location that we didn't have a network in our phones to contact anyone for help. It was so unsafe and such a pathetic experience. Upon contacting the helpline not much help was extended. Really disappointed.
