Review Of L' Amby Bay | Rooms in a Homestay

This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at any hotel. The rooms were extremely small, dirty, and unhygienic, completely different from the photos shown online. The property has misleading images on MMT, mixing pictures from two different hotels to trick customers into booking. The staff was unprofessional and unresponsive. There was no housekeeping service at all — we kept calling, but nobody ever came. No cutlery provided, only one towel for the entire stay, and the staff seemed to have zero sense of responsibility or hospitality. The power situation was unbearable. There was a power cut for the entire day, and during the night, the electricity kept going and coming back every few minutes, making it impossible to rest in the heat. There was no proper backup provided either. The biggest and most serious issue was safety. There are no guards or security personnel at the property. Late at night, a group of boys entered the homestay premises and started clicking pictures of the girls staying in the adjacent room. This place is not safe at all, especially for families and female travelers. It’s poorly maintained, unhygienic, unsafe, and completely mismanaged. I strongly recommend everyone to avoid this property.

Location is good breakfast was good staff where helpful

When we arrived, we were informed that the AC in our room wasn’t working and had to wait an hour. Only after we questioned the caretakers were we moved to another duplex room. The next day, our rest was constantly disturbed as they kept knocking on our door asking us to shift rooms again. We were then taken to a completely different building where, once again, the AC didn’t work. After repeated issues and back-and-forth questioning, we were finally given the room we had originally booked. The caretakers were hardly available on the property whenever we needed assistance. Apart from the view, there was nothing worth the money spent. The toilet had a heater installed but it didn’t work, the TV didn’t work, and to top it all off, we weren’t even given the AC remote when we asked for it, they flat-out refused. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

Location is bad but Hotel is amazing good sun view and beach view, Breakfast is good(idli, poori, upma,pongal), Helpful owner and relaxing place

Yes i felt unsafe in this hotel room lock was not good, and at night not even one person responded people outside only view is good

I found it on MMT, the pictures looked nice and it has a seaside view which is what we were looking for something near the beach. It exceeded our expectations. Room was clean, staff was polite and everything was nice

Only plus is the property opp to the beach. But rooms are not upto the mark and the cot is damaged and the extra bed is really pathetic

I searched sea view property after I found this resort. I went for check out. The room is not sea view, it’s side view so totally disappointed. After they cleaned another room. There is no cupboard, Tv, screen and there is small small insects are there.

Rooms were clean and the beach view was also good. But the area was not clean and we were not feeling comfortable.

The beach view was amazing, they maintained the property nicely, location was also feasible, the staff were very friendly, totally loved it, only thing which didn’t meet our expectation was the size of the room was little small.

We recently stayed at this property in Pondicherry booked . While the interior of the room was decent and okay overall, we were quite disappointed with the basic amenities and service. Essential facilities like towels, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, and even drinking water were not provided until we specifically requested them. These essentials should ideally be ready and available before a guest checks in. Additionally, the bedsheet looked very plain and worn out, and one of the switchboards in the room was broken, which raised safety concerns. We genuinely felt unhappy with the experience and were surprised that such a property is listed on MakeMyTrip without meeting basic hospitality standards. It was not the experience we were expecting.
