Review Of 180 Mc Iver Villa (25 Kms from Ooty)

Located just outside con-nor it’s away from the mad rush in ooty. The place has breath taking views. The restaurant is amazing. The mciver delight (a good take on virgin mojito) is a must try.

Its a good property in a nice location. Very scenic

I have stayed here for couple of days. The staff was friendly and polite. Hospitality is good. One would really gets mesmerised with the location. Apart from this I heard some weird sounds during night times like window clattering and goods and stuffs falling from the roof. The rooms are all vintage type like a proper English villa but the locks are so old fashioned, weak and nearly broken, so it feels somewhat insecure sometimes. They could've installed electronic security locks and doors. The restaurant in-house is somewhat costly but worth the penny. They serve Italian and continental food with authentic taste. Overall experience is average.

Nothing more, everything was fine. We would definitely opt McIver Villa again for our reference.

Location - Located in upper Coonoor (near sim's park), it's an old villa with a nice big lawn overlooking the valley . . Food - Food is on the expensive side, but good continental fare. Not so great a tea or coffee though . Service - Staff is courteous and helpful . Room - Old fashioned large room with a fireplace. Bathroom is well maintained and clean.

I love this resort very much, view and hospitality is very goo. Nice service for the guests, old aged building with good maintenance. Nice grasslands for the children to play almost foreigners visit this place. We mostly go to this resort to get relaxed life.

A beautiful place as soon as you reach, you will be welcomed by the calmness of the place, a beautiful villa with a lush green lawn with trees and flowers and an amazing view of valley. Located slightly away from city and hence its very peaceful. They have six rooms since, we were 3 couples, we got three rooms having a common living room. Rooms are quite spacious with colonial style furniture which fits perfectly with the architecture of villa. They provide heater and have fire provision in room. The villa caretakers are very attentive and breakfast is managed by them and was very tasty along with tea snacks though out the day, whereas lunch dinner is served by restaurant, which is also open to public. I suggest to order well in advance for lunch and dinner as it gets delayed a lot ,if not ordered in advance. As a feedback I suggest management to put proper directions to the reception and guest rooms as restaurant guests, often wanders within the property and in the absence of clear demarcation, they keep peeking in rooms which is very annoying. Overall, we had a wonderful time here and I would definitely recommend the place.

Great location, excellent food! For a hotel that has just 6 rooms, the food is absolutely amazing. We tried Continental, Italian, Indian and can't say which was better. Room had a plumbing glitch and we had to change. Otherwise as well, I would call the accommodation average. However, the overall experience is way above par. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They were genuinely interested in ensuring the guests have a great experience. My first visit to this hotel but I'm positive I'll be returning to this one and trying others in their portfolio.

Rooms are very good and cosy with wooden floor. Bathrooms are big and clean. Location and garden is wonderful. We can spend any number of days enjoying the serene atmosphere here. Service staff is very good. Only minus will be the restaurant food taste which is not up to the mark. I think restaurant is not managed by Mciver villa. Mciver villa Staff is very courteous and is ready to help.

Great place to stay!!! Good service and hospitable staff. A must stay place if you are visiting Coonoor. Brilliant view and probably the best restaurant in Coonoor. An unforgettable experience!!
