We had a short 1 night stay. We were travelling with our 1 year old son. And we wanted the small fridge to store his baby food as it was not available in the room. Without any hesitation they got a mini bar fridge in no time and installed.
The absolutely unmatched Taj service makes this hotel stand out in Coonoor. The building is old but that is what adds to the charm. Extremely big room and great facilities to keep children occupied. Had several activities including bonfire, Housie, magic show as well. Would surely stay again. Loved the place.
The hotel is good and rooms are really big. Location is in between Ooty & Coonoor. If you are looking for resort kind of options with many games & activities you might be a bit disappointed but for rest all, opt for this place. Food at the hotel is also good. Its all you need and was value for money with online offers etc while booking.
Good Hotel nice place to stay... The staff were very courteous. The food was delicious and at reasonable price... Enjoyed our stay... Extremely quiet, peaceful and nice locales make for a very good escape from all the city noise.
Cheap and best... Value for money.. Location was amazing. Service was neat and good.. No need to worry about the food... Mr Sivaraj and his wife vijaya cooks great... Taste was amazing... Rate was reasonable.
First trip to Ooty and my decision to select serenity manor was worth. They arranged whatever food we wanted, and the chicken curry was so yummy. Rooms are very well-maintained. Very helpful staff. Good location.
I visited Maple homestay on April, 2016. This property is located at top of a Hill, has very good scenic view. 15 to 20mins distance to Coonoor town. Room is pretty decent and nicely maintained. They do not have any restaurant. However, if you order food well in advance they will provide you. No towel, Wi-Fi and toiletries are provided. Recommend this for people who are looking for good home stay with nice scenic view and having vehicle with them to go to Coonoor.
1. Don't expect hotel like service. You need to order prior, give money then guy buys grocery and cook in his kitchen. One caretaker with family is staying in this property.
2. Good place for value for money. Location is good but bit inside from road but that's expected on homestay.
Hello, I always visit this hotel when I go to coonor. It has perfect location, scenic beauty, good food, good rooms, and service. For business type, its also good. Just it is too far from airport.
It was a pleasant staying there. Rooms are bit small but clean and comfortable, wash room are clean with hot water facility. View from hotel is awesome, food is excellent. Would like to stay in same hotel if coming again.
Located a little ways outside Coonoor on the way to sightseeing spots like Dolphin's Nose, the Bliss Homestay is an experience true to its name. The suite room is lavishly appointed and provides a breathtaking view of tea gardens and faraway landscapes, with the tiny little garden of the homestay visible right beneath the balcony. Mr. Krishnakumar and his family are most welcoming hosts and go out of their way to make guests feel at home, apart from assisting with local sightseeing and travel options. While leaving such luxury behind is difficult, the peaceful roads near the property are good for morning strolls as well. If you're in Coonoor, this is definitely a place worth checking out.
Located right in the middle of a tea estate, you cannot ask for a better location to stay in Coonoor. The owner, Krish is very helpful and will guide you through all the activities/places you want to visit in and around Coonoor. The breakfast is home cooked, simple but tasty fare. Krish was kind enough to us and upgraded us to the suite room which is this huge apartment like room. If you are looking for no frills, bliss of a stay in Coonoor, Bliss Homestay is your answer.
A really good homestay that's located on a hill overlooking the town. Here are my thoughts on it:
1) Located on a hill away from the town, so it's quite silent. Very well maintained garden.
2) Rooms are spacious enough and the sheets are clean. Attached bathrooms are clean and hot water is available.
3) Tata Sky DTH is available with the full package (all channels) and free Wi-Fi is also available.
4) Food is excellent! Breakfast is complimentary. It will cost 150 per head for Lunch/Dinner and they'll make you whatever you prefer. Personally, I feel it's better to eat here than outside in the town as the rates aren't much different.
5) Great service by the hosts Mohammed Noor and Josephine. They'll make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
Overall a great retreat away from the bustling city life. You'll feel rejuvenated when your vacation is over.
It is not a lodge. It feels like a home with living room, dining hall and bedroom attached with separate spacious toilet and bathroom. I booked this homestay on 7th June 2016 through Makemytrip and very thankful for providing good room at excellent location. It has also recreational facility with badminton and volleyball lawn. We enjoyed a lot... And food was delicious. Very memorable time spent their which will always be cherished in my heart. I recommend others to go for it.
The hotel is located at a very calm place so near to Coonor and provides a great view of Nilgiris and the wellington train. Water heater was working until 11 a.m., I think it should be 24 hour service. The Lift was under maintenance, since my wife was pregnant, they considered to give a room at first floor. Wi-Fi was not working, it would be better if they had mentioned that before. Food is average. But the people working are very friendly. It would be a great place to stay, if we have all the facilities.
As they supposed to provide free wi-fi connection which is not provided to us, we are shifted to 4th floor and lift is not working. We are there with 2 old aged people, when we complained for the same they said "it is the fault of Makemytrip as they are not updated regarding lift and we already informed them". Geyser is not working, out of four room only one geyser is working.
Location of hotel is good, all tourist spots are nearby. Room, reception, service, food ambiance all were upto the mark. Just the play area of children seems to be small if that could be taken care off then really good hotel to visit at. Food is served is fresh and hot.
The Hotel is quite away from the main market place. A five minute walk from the hotel takes you to fabulous nature beauty. There is a beautiful valley view and one can feel the local touch of Coonoor.
The property is quite small but is compensated by the warmth of the staff. Excellent service with a smile. Miss Chandni on the reception with an affectionate smile was very helpful to make arrangements for transport and other facilities.
The food and ambience at the Restaurant was good but could not understand why they have not made proper arrangement for the wash basin. It was situated outside the restaurant and was unclean.
Overall a good stay, Rooms were clean and well maintained. The bathroom was a bit small but clean.
Can be recommended for a budget stay. You get an opportunity to be closer to nature
Very good accommodation, this hotel is near to the bus stop and railway station, good service, cleaning also good, very good experience in the Coonoor and we want to visit once again this places. Totally unforgettable experience.
I had a wonderful experience staying in "Bison Valley Cottage". Though the room was basic, it had beds which were clean and comfortable and attached bathroom was neat with clean towels. The highlight of this cottage was the location where I had an awesome view of a valley full of vegetation and tea plantations and the frequent mists gave me a whole new experience. The caretaker was very friendly and was taking care of us in every possible way and the food was very tasty. Overall, it was an experience worth remembering and I am planning to visit again soon.
Had been in Bison Valley. Nice location and atmosphere. Hospitality, Care and Service is commendable. Relaxing place for business people. Food is good. Good place for family. More value less cost.
The location is superb, 25 km away from Coonoor. The property is 600 acres tea estate. The cottage is nestled in tea garden. The rooms are big, with big verandahs provided with cots, chairs. Satellite TV provided. Books provided. Shuttle bats, balls provided. Garden swings, hammocks provided in the cottage garden. Neat rooms. 2 nos cooks stay the property during day time. They serve only veg food with good taste. We took safari for rs 500.00 only for the entire group, it's thrilling. We walked all the tea gardens, near by ponds. Very calm, peaceful location. Would like to visit again. Thanks to Dinesh for his support.
Be it the mango tree in the backyard or the tea gardens all around - you are in the lap of nature. The views are stunning and the cottage itself has an old world functional charm to it. The caretaker makes up for his lack of communicative ability in English with his service. The food is functional and fine too. Nominally priced packages for bonfire, jeep safari and trekking exist.
Great response and good customer service. Thanks for shiva and co team for your kind hospitality. A pleasant homestay for all people. Great ambience, different style wooden rooms.. Scottish... Go for Neemrana.
Three place was constructed in the British period and still maintained well. Very close to famous Sims Park and inside the city. Staff were very good and friendly. They helped us with all the things we wanted like campfire and food. Overall, great experience.
Will feel like staying in our own house. Very homely... The beauty of tea estate and the climate.. Everything is cool.. We will enjoy the stay.. Provision for cycling and roaming through tea estate is there.. We can engage in several indoor and outdoor games including badminton, carroms, etc. Food is also good and economic..
Our stay was good and memorable. Nice hotel with 5-6 rooms only. Food was good. Good location amidst tea estate. Lucky to see wild bison. Good staff. Recommended for couples. You can coverall major tourist spots in a day and relax, read, cycle, play games for remaining time.
