Welcomheritage Fernhills Royal Palace

Food is not that great because options are very very minimal and breakfast was not ready even at 8:30 dinner. Also we need to literally beg them. That is a situation. We went for a royal treatment, but the food, especially the kitchen. Not not great then other problems like bathtub lot of broken things. It was not kept very clean. Anyway the property is older I can understand and how many days there is absolutely no amenities. So average property price we are paying. It's not that great my opinion. Thank you.

1. This property is totally run down and is hardly maintained. The rooms are smelly and damp. The walls are damaged with moisture and is unstayable because of the smell in the rooms 2. ⁠We could not sleep for the first night 18th Oct and were to change to another hotel because of the staff which was non-responsive to our request to change to another room. 3. ⁠We have wasted by booking this place which is listed 4. ⁠We are surprised that you guys don’t do any reference checks or verification before listing . 5. ⁠inspite of speaking to you customer service executives they have not responded to our request.

I did not stay there, as i did not feel like staying the night.

The Property is not maintained and poorly managed. The hotel and interiors are dilapidated. Service is poor. Staff is not well trained nor service oriented barring 1/2. Limited food options and sub par in quality.

Stayed May 04 to May 07, 2025. Great property. The interiors are great. Huge lawns. Staff is very good. The meals excellent.

This palace is haunted I felt so many abnormal activities during my stay. Food was third class, and they are serving Expired date Jam and butter.

Hotel is so asthmatic. Rooms are so big and comfortable. All necessary things are available. Staff are so humble and nice. Food is ok.

Location was amazing food was average staff’s attitude was good.

An excellent palace with pure heritage culture. The place is surrounded by acres of land. With beautiful gardens and architecture of colonial style. I’m pretty impressed and quite breakfast with south indian and english cuisine.

Don't expect the place to be like in photos. If you like to stay in an actual palace where a lot of movies were shot(if you know the movie references) the stay will be more enjoyable. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. You can walk around and enjoy, they have a ground and viewpoint. Don't expect other amenities like in the resort. Food is not that great and it is expensive. I stayed with my parents and kids. Enjoyed the stay. They have luggage service unlike what some other reviews have mentioned, but the radiator was not working in the room. The value lies in heritage and the movie references. Not crowded and noisy.

Amazing property and what a marvelous location it is. Though property is not maintained but that's problem of owners. Staff does it's best to satisfy guests. Five stars to their staff which is very less in number but has great sense of hospitality. 1 star to owners who don't spend maintaining such a great place!

The stay ar the welcome heritage fernhills palace ooty was excellent. Right from the welcome to the rooms to the service everything was top notch. I would like to add that make my trip never disappoints. However i just have one concern regarding the car and the driver. The driver otherwise was extreme cooperative but did not understand tamil or english and was comfortable only with malayalam. Overall it was a very nice experience, apart from the car and the driver.

The property is located in a very nice place close to all tourist attaractions. The palace turned into a hotel is a must visit. The rooms take you back the kings era, giving you the nostalgic feel. The rooms are well furnished with antique furniture, paintungs and carpets. The hotel is owned by the wadayar group. The thing which i noticed that stands out is that they have not appointed professionally trained staff. But the staff all are very courteous and helpful. They have been retained for over 3 decades each which shows how good the employers are. Over all the property is a must visit to get the royal feel. Great job done by the staff.

We had a pleasant and comfortable stay. The rooms were well maintained and all the staff were very friendly.

No hot water in 15°C temperature at ooty, very rusty hotel over all. The location is good but needs some maintenance. Food is ok doesn't have a great menu only basic

Had booked 3 night stay at this place, was allotted bharathpur suite which was very dirty and had to change to kodata suite, the place is mostly deserted and hardly handful of staff managing the property, the palace is lavish but it’s quite spooky as there are hardly people around, you’d get bad vibes pretty much most of the time, not sure if it’s haunted or not but sleep is disturbed and the whole purpose of rest and recoup on a vacation will be disturbed, book and stay at your own will. As the staff is barely there; the hygiene is questionable, cutlery used in dining area were visibly dirty with some weird ingrowths in them or lipstick stains, alcohol isn’t served in premises so it’s by-ob for which the wine glasses used were again dirty, warm water for bathing is limited to few hours in a day. Having said this, if you like isolation and want to live in a grand yesteryears palace this is the place for you

I recently had the pleasure of staying at in ooty, and i must say it was a good experience. I was greeted with warm hospitality and a friendly smile from the staff. Rooms: the rooms are spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. Service: the service was very good. The complimentary breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options to choose from.
