Had a good relaxing stay. Location was good. Rooms have good view of nearby hills and forest. We were able to see Deers behind our room in the evening.. Room and toilets are very clean. The staff are very helpful. Food is also good.
Good and clean beds. The hut is very clean. But the bathroom need to be restructured. Water has to be drained properly. Excellent location to see wildlife. Good view of the mountains. Good food and courteous staff. Repeat about bathroom.
Super place. Nice hospitality. Value for money. Peaceful surroundings.
Near by all places are very good. Food is excellent. We stay 2 days. We enjoyed lot.
Again I will come when I get time.
Good to stay who need peace.
The Resort is in good location, you can enjoy the mountain view from your room window itself. Resort is little out of the town which makes it's location so peace. The service provided by velu's is so good. Only flaw is food in the restaurant nearby is not up to the mark. You have to manage your food from the town itself. Overall it's a superb place to stay.
Was too good to stay in a place like this. Much appreciated for your wonderful service. The natural look and the nature's beauty gave us a pleasant Stay, I would definitely recommend this place for my fellow family and colleagues. The trip to forest gave us a remarkable experience and thrilling.
Best location to enjoy with group of friends... Even food was good.. No drinks available... We have to purchase it from the near by town if we want to booze... It's not exactly a resort nor lodge... Nice place.
Not really worth to spend. It is not value for money. Location is not fantastic as it is inside the town. No basic amenities like inter com phone, no food menu in room, no hotel reception itself. Water in swimming pool is not clean for usage. Moderate behaving staff.
We stayed in Doll Villa - Standard room for 1 night during April Ugadi weekend. The rooms were clean and hygienic with well-maintained surroundings. Overall good place to stay with pleasant view from room. Good vicinity to tiger reserve and forest range. The swimming pool is good, but the food at the hotel is average. The guys in the resort are friendly and helping in nature. Arranged the campfire in the evening with music. Resort does not have much facilities only have TT, carom board, swimming pool, cycle for adults. The place is quite expensive during summer, but value for money we payed. Overall good place to stay. Recommend this for others.
Good accommodation for the price. Helpful and friendly staff and location is not that bad. Basic necessities and cleanliness is maintained but with no air conditioning. We managed alright even in the last week of April. We took our own stock of tidbits for hunger pangs as small shops are nowhere to be seen and read some reviews online that the hotel won't stock packaged goodies although meals would be ready with reasonable notice. Good to stay with family for a short trip to Bandipur & Mudumalai Tiger Reserve.
Staff is courteous and hospitable. The place is well located within the jungle but the terrain behind the hotel is plain, open land (not much dense) so no animals dare to venture into the field since they don't get any forest cover. We stayed up till early morning in pin drop silence hoping for a glimpse of some elephant or bison (and of course, if luck would have it, the tiger or leopard) but not even deer came near the property. No alarm calls, not even regular sound of birds chirping. I'm guessing this may be the buffer zone probably, that would explain complete absence of animals. Otherwise neat and clean rooms, polite staff, peaceful place.
On your way to this hotel you get to see deer, elephant, bison etc. And it is better than paid Bandipur Safari. But make sure to cross the way in early morning or evening time because the probability of spotting wild animal increases. Hotel is at very calm place. We enjoyed our stay.
Nice location. If you intend to spend your time leisurely, close to nature and not much bothered about the food cost, it a decent facility. Go, take lot of books with you and enjoy the peace. The management can do much better by ensuring that facilities are working fine room TV was not working, but then who was bothered.
The best place for people looking out for a peaceful stay out of the hustle bustle. Serene beautiful place, a must visit for nature lovers. If you would like to have a relaxed vacation without any huge to do list, then this the perfect place to enjoy yourself with your family. Remember- no wi-fi, no connectivity except BSNL, which becomes a must to have a peaceful vacation nowadays.
Beautiful stay located near to Lamb's Rock View. Cliff view room is the best option. Clean and well-maintained rooms. You can either book cab/auto from Coonoor Railway St, they may charge 200- 400. You also have bus, but not always. Better to have your own vehicle/rent one. The food De-Rock charge is expensive, 350 per head (Veg) for lunch/dinner. Better take a 10 min walk clicking photos from De-Rock to way up, (2 hair pin curve), you have a hotel (Sri Baba Restaurant) which offers good food with normal rate.
In Tamil nadu ... Border of Kerala ... Location is good ... Cottage model room ... Is very clean and beautiful ... All services are good .. 24 hours hot water facility and coffee maker ... But only thing ... Complimentary breakfast is very poor.
Room was excellent. Location was awesome. Food could have been better. Not much to take. Especially for vegetarians. Staff service was excellent. Except food everything else was outstanding.
We had gone as a family of 5 members, and 2 kids (3 yrs and 6 months). Soon we landed the location and proximity of the place to the reserved forest settled us in. We crossed many resorts notably Bamboo banks, Wildwood haven, etc before we reached chalets. Chalets is the last in the line before the fenced boundaries of the reserved forest closes on you. The forest isn't that dense and for a half a km or so on your west the trees are quite sparse. Coming to the Chalets, they have compact cottages about 6 in no. Each can accommodate an additional bed if need be. There is a Manager, Viju from Palakkad, a helper Vineet, a localite and Moorthy, a cook, native of Nagapattinam, was earlier employed with Hotel Tamilnadu, Mudumalai.
Our stay was pleasant but only pain point was lack of timely coordination. Manager Viju was often found cooking Chapatis at Kitchen. Perhaps, at least for weekends,. The management should consider adding more to help with logistics/ kitchen. Also, they have a centralised solar heater, which hardly helps on a cold day. Happen to catch up with the Owner in charge and had told him the concerns. Seems there are already working on these shortcomings and they have some plans for additional landscaping as well. I have requested to set up the place to be more family friendly (those who don't drink/ smoke). As it happens with resorts these days, hardly those who drink/ smoke seems to have any concern for those who don't drink/ smoke. They feel it's their democratic freedom to what they like in common areas. This is another area where Chalets needs can improve by segregating the common areas between those who party and those who just sit quiet enjoying the beautiful nature.
On a side note, if you would like to have a transport arranged by Chalets, they don't have much resources, rather for local trips to Ooty/ Mudumalai) you can seek to Bapu a. K. A Vishwanath (speaks Tamil and Kannada equally well) who isn't not just a driver but a honest man and a very resourceful guide. Manager Viju should be able to provide his contact information (not sure I can publish it here without his consent).
