I had a very disappointing experience during check-in at Hotel Diplomat, Mumbai. We arrived late at night around 11 PM with a one-year-old child, exhausted from travel. Unfortunately, due to a genuine oversight, we did not have a physical ID at the time but assured the staff that we would provide the required identification first thing the next morning. Despite our repeated requests and explaining our situation—including the presence of a small child—Mr. Shahid (or Mr. Shajid) at the reception refused to allow us to check in or even let the child enter the room to rest or order food. We found this approach to be extremely insensitive and unaccommodating, especially considering the late hour and the fact that we were traveling with a baby. Eventually, we had to seek help from the nearby Colaba Police Station to resolve the situation. Only after police involvement were we finally allowed to check in.

location of the hotel is very good. paid parking by bmc is available. 800 rs for one day. food was very good. staff were also polite and very helpful. rooms were spacious. we could easily accommodate an extra cot in the room. rooms were clean. it's an old hotel , so furniture was old. we had a small issue with water . however house keeping solved it immediately. the stay was overall a good one.
