Bad dining experience

During my recent stay at Sterling Guruvayur, I had a very disappointing dining experience. Initially, the staff refused to provide the à la carte menu and insisted that we order only from the buffet. With no other option, I ordered a soup for my wife and a juice (with ice) for myself. Around ten minutes later, the manager informed me that I could in fact order from the à la carte menu. By then, as we had already waited, I decided not to place a new order. Moreover, the juice served was at room temperature and not chilled as requested. When I raised this issue, the staff claimed it was prepared with ice, which was clearly not the case. The service in the dining area was also poor—there were no waiters present, and customers had to look around to find someone for assistance. For a property that claims to be a four-star hotel, this level of service and attention to guests is far below expectations.

This is not original sterling, but duplicate. It’s actually GVM hotel or something. They have bought the ‘sterling’ franchise for brand sake and to suck customers money. AC was not working. In-room dining was terrible. Coffee was like never before bad. Totally, waste of money.

The property is good and clean. we stayed for a night only.It is approximately 2 km from Guruvyur temple. There is another Sterling resort within walking distance to the temple. However the hotel is clean and good, all amenities are also good. The buffet breakfast was very expensive, however there are plenty of eating places close to the temple. We stayed for one night., so don't have much to say about it. However the roomwas clean amenities were good ,and all the staff was great

Had a pleasant stay with Sterling Guruvayur. It’s nearby Mammiyur, and the room is clean and decent. Bathroom was neat. Staffs were very courteous. I recommend this place for a peaceful stay and darshan.

Good place to stay. Courteous staff. Clean premises. Food generally good. However curries (Sambar, Bhaji, peas curry etc.) served with breakfast were not at all satisfactory. Just adding hot water, salt and chilli to big vegetable pieces don’t make a sambar.

Family trip to Guruvayoor Temple We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, thanks to the exceptionally customer-friendly staff. Special mention to Sujith at the front office, who truly went above and beyond. He was always engaged with guests, guided us very well for Darshan arrangements with a wheelchair, and was ever ready to help upfront with a warm attitude. Simon was also very agile and attentive, making us feel well taken care of. In housekeeping, Gopinath deserves appreciation for getting the mattress changed in just a day – something we didn’t expect to be addressed so quickly. His promptness added great comfort to our stay. In the restaurant, Midhun stood out for his careful attention while taking orders and ensuring everything was served as expected. However, we felt that the rest of the restaurant staff would benefit from additional training to match the same level of attentiveness and service. Overall, the team made our stay memorable, with some individuals setting a great benchmark in hospitality. The room was spacious and comfortable, which we really appreciated. The only small concern was that since the hotel is next to a high-traffic road, we sometimes heard the noise through the windows. Soundproofing would make the experience even better.

There is no good WiFi in the hotel, it will frequently getting disconnected and very limited option on restaurant menu and that’s not upto the mark… Some rooms AC is not centralised and it doesn’t work well

The stay was amazing, people greeted us well from the reception to keeping the luggage in the room!! Even tho hi tea time was over the staff was very helpful in giving us a coffee and snacks !! The staff person helped us getting auto while it was raining badly and I think his name was Rajeev!! Thank you sterling guruyvaoor until next time !! The food was great my parents enjoyed having lunch and they gave us Hi tea even after time was over so they were kind
