I had one of the worst hotel stays of my life at Shri Krishna Shryaashrya Aashram, Vrindavan. Initially, we were allotted two rooms, but the staff informed us there were no locks available at the moment. They assured us they would arrange the locks shortly and asked us to leave our unpacked luggage inside and go for lunch.
When we returned, we were shocked to find that our rooms had been given to someone else, and our luggage was left outside in the corridor. The staff was completely unapologetic and instead offered us two other rooms — without any beds — and told us to sleep on the floor.
The condition of the rooms and facilities was horrible. There were no shower kits, the bathrooms were extremely dirty, there were no hand showers, and the bedsheets were uncleaned. To our shock, they even provided us with a blanket that someone had vomited on.
Since the booking was non-refundable, canceling wasn’t an option. Later in the afternoon, it started raining, and water began seeping into the room, soaking our luggage. The rooms were full of mosquitoes, had a constant foul smell, and no ID verification was done at check-in — a serious safety issue.
We had no choice but to vacate the property in the evening and look for another place to stay.
