Review Of Shalom Backpackers Udaipur | Rooms & Dorms

The room & the property as a whole was not well maintained.Lift was not working , the bathroom tap handle was broken , fan in the room was not functioning properly.The rooftop cafe was unhygienic.The staff was supportive and the location is good.

Well my stay was average I would say. Property is bit old. Bed and rooms are just average. Washroom is not much cleaned. 1st time I found this type of dirty bucket in washroom in any hostel. Also In evening I found roof top table is messy all leftover food, plate, alcohol on table. Also representative person I would found not responsive. When I asked for the AC problem, they just ignoring things, saying MCV down and all, and when I stand there for an while they just send one person and to solve issue. Pros : The view from roof top is incredible. First time I found this type of big roof in any hostel. You have plenty of space to sit at any corner. But if table is messy with left over food, I would say u should look for other option. Location is perfect all places are nearby. My opinion Single person may choose this option but if you are group you should choose other option definitely.

0% management no one is available in the cafe and 0% positive atmosphere like live music and party Total waste of money and time. never recommend anyone to this property.

hotel was under construction, there was lots of noise and the lift was not working. A whole passageway was blocked so we had to take our bags through terrace to exit the hotel. Our room was on ground floor so that was quite a bit of distance. On top of that when we asked the hotel staff to help with the bags, they told us that we had to do it all ourselves. the common washroom door wouldn't close and we had to keep someone outside the door while we took care of our business. Overall the infrastructure, maintenance and service were all terrible.

Room was decent and had decent facilities. Rooftop seating was amazing but food was average. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

It was nice experience. The host and staff was nice and helpful. The live music event was also nice . Room was clean. Overall very nice experience

Pathetic Experience. Worst Rooms. Washroom’s don’t have even proper working jet sprays , showers not working, Broken Wall mirrors , The curtains are so dirty . The hostel Is not worth even 500 rupees .They Do not have parking for Scooty . The manager here is very rude and non cooperative. Do not book this hostel even for 500-700 rupees . This is the worst you can expect in Udaipur .

The room itself was clean, comfortable, and well-furnished — no complaints there. However, the washroom was a major letdown. The water pressure was weak, the flush wasn’t working properly, and there was a persistent bad smell that made it hard to use the space comfortably. On top of that, the lift (elevator) wasn’t working during my entire stay. This was extremely inconvenient, especially with luggage and for anyone who has mobility issues. No clear communication or apology from the staff either, which made the situation more frustrating. What was most disappointing was the attitude of the owner, Gaurav. He clearly only focused on guests who were spending money on drinks or extras, completely ignoring others. It felt like if you weren’t running up a tab, your concerns didn’t matter. I saw him personally catering to those who ordered drinks, while the rest of us were left waiting for even basic service. It was obvious he was trying to squeeze extra money from those customers. This kind of biased and unprofessional behavior is unacceptable. I won’t be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone unless you’re planning to drink — and overpay — your way to decent treatment. This place is definitely not family-friendly, and I would not recommend it for anyone looking for a comfortable and respectful environment. Avoid unless you have no other option.

it was indeed the best hostel stay in my life ,Gaurav and team were ready even late at nights for anything and everything abhay was active and nice too ,overall a 200 percent recommended place...😌

Room was good. but lift was not working most of the times. wifi was really slow at times.

I had a wonderful stay here. The location was really nice, making it easy to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The staff was very helpful and made sure everything went smoothly throughout my stay. Overall, it was a good experience and I’d definitely recommend it to others.

it was a very good stay. all the staff were very kind . Gaurav bhai is helpful there. You can choose shalom backpackers as your stay with an amazing view of lakes.

Excellent and pleasant stay. Was travelling solo and the whole staff was very supportive. Chill vibes with beautiful rooftop view are worth giving a try. They offer various group treks with special guide as well to explore local area and sightseeing. In the middle of main city udaipur where you can take a stall through Udaipur’s vintage streets and enjoy your shopping. Their cafe shalom offers a wide menu with good quality delicious food and live music. Highly recommended.

Best Stay. Has the best rooftop view of Udaipur. With best staff around the Hostel, Value for Money.

Very disappointing experience. Basic facilities were not provided, not even drinking water. The room was not properly cleaned, the lift was not functioning well, and the receptionist was extremely unprofessional. Overall, the service was very poor and far below expectations.

Our recent stay at shalom Udaipur was absolutely wonderful and was nothing short of perfect, and I’d like to extend special thanks to JAYANT , whose warm welcome and attention to detail made our visit unforgettable.

It was good, despite the room was superior double room with balcony the room appliances were in trouble. The slider of balcony, the door of cupboard , switches and fans were all malfunctioning. The room services for cleaning was also missing. The only perk staying here was spacious room with access to all the places nearby in our itinerary.
