We came here at a friend's recommendation. I was wary about traveling there during the monsoons due to news about landslides. However, the people at the guesthouse assured us roads were good and that we wouldn't have any difficulty. So we took a cab from Kathgodam and reached Gahana cafe after which we had to trek down a scenic route about 20 mins into the jungle to reach the place. And what a place! The glasshouse was an absolute delight to stay at, with breathtaking views of the Valley. We were literally amidst the clouds, soaking in the views, unwinding with a book at hand and the monsoons just made the place even more beautiful with the lush green popping out. The rains were literally the only thing you could hear in the quiet. Absolutely loved the warmth and hospitality of Vijay, Bahadur, Vicky and all who were there to serve and help you have the most pleasant stay. The food is the typical homely comfort food, and the cappuccino at Gahana cafe is one of the best I've had in a while. An absolutely amazing stay, one that I definitely recommend if you're looking for a quiet getaway from the hustle-bustle of city life. Lots of places around for nature walks and trails that the people in the guesthouse would be happy to help you with. Definitely going come back soon!
