My happiness of having confirm booking vanished the moment the hotel denied check in. Not only check in is denied but asking more money was just a slap on the face. The sheer greed and ignorance of this hotel is totally unacceptable and unprofessional. This hotel was given 4 star out of 5 last year in 2020 by me for its overall experience when it just opened but after a year, their behavior and professional has changed from hotel to local lodge where one has bargain for tariff.
I have booked this for one night while traveling to Guwhati from Delhi. The tariff showing was 750- per night as booked almost 10 days ago. Till the moment I showed my booking at the reception on 25.12.2021 at 8pm, they informed that they have canceled the booking. It must be noted that no cancellation call/email has been sent to me as claimed by hotel. Upon asking, they didn't even bother to show the cancellation ID if their claim is true and correct. Being in digital age, where cancellation receipt sent/received within seconds, hotel claim of cancellation was baseless and without any receipt. However, with customer care support, the hotel bend a little for first few minutes but asked for extra Rs.215- on the basis that their minimum tariff is Rs.1000. Since I had paid Rs 785- including GST, I had paid extra Rs. 215- for that day. Upon conference call, executive Mr. Ajay was told the entire situation who accepted that customer would not be known whether the cancellation was done or not. However, even he seems helpless in convincing the Hotel that how can hotel ask for more money since the booking has been done 10 days ago on 750. Had the booking been made 1-3 days earlier, the tariff of 1000- sounds convincing but if I book 10 days ago on less tariff and if hotel asked for more money on the day of check in, night time, cold winter then its an alarm to all the customers of india to get ready as any hotel can deny check in and ask for more money.
I also informed Mr. Ajay that minimum facilities are not provided by hotel like clean room, wifi. Since hotel owner was on conference call, he denied my claim. I updated CCE that I have screen shot of CONNECTED WITHOUT INTERNET. CCE Mr. Ajay asked to share that screenshot. For that, I requested Mr. Ajay that I have to disconnect the call to turn ON my net since both cannot be run simultaneously. But that was the biggest mistake I had done. Upon disconnect of call with CCE, hotel called me on intercom as I have been shifted to a room in the meanwhile since they weren't expected that I would go down that easily and I was talking to CCE in their lobby. To save themselves the embarrassment, they provided me room.
Again, after several tries, I wasn't able to connect. Meanwhile, hotel asked me to shell out Rs.1285. With my sudden shock and anger, Hotel said that they didn't receive the amount of Rs.785- and thats why had to pay Rs.1285. This greed and cunningness in this modern is rare. Just keeping a blind eye on already paid confirmed booking, hotel tried every possible way to extort money realizing that I am unable to connect to CCE.
Then, after several tries Mr. Kundan, also found difficult to convince the hotel. The fact that customer advance booking cannot be turned down was totally unacceptable by hotel. Even I was surprise the dare of hotel towards MMT. Hotel asked me to tell to pay them on which I replied that I am not the part of that transaction to which they replied that they don't have the number. On that, I literally want to slap that guy who has fall to such low level of character. I also informed that I won't be interested in these hotels unlike its guarantees. Nobody was interested in them but assurance creates a element of trust. Mr. Kundan, then settle the entire ordeal upon pressing on me that I still had to pay Rs.215. Now, surrounded by hotel and nowhere to go at 11pm, I paid Rs.215. Though, a voucher of Rs.200- was promised but that 's the failure of booking at the first place. Even the price of 1000- and facility it offers are lower than a roadside lodge.
