The location of Ananda Kashi is quite convenient — very close to Kashi Vishwanath temple, Bhairav temple, and Mahamrityunjay temple, which makes it ideal for those visiting for darshan.
The food served here is tasty, though on the spicier side, so families with kids may want to request milder preparations. One positive experience was that the staff agreed to heat milk that we had bought from outside for our kids, which most hotels usually refuse. Their in-house milk is charged per glass and is a bit expensive.
Room service can definitely be improved. They sometimes miss sending enough plates and spoons with room orders, which can be inconvenient.
They provide auto calling on the reception desk itself, which is handy.
One drawback is the surroundings — there’s a wine shop right outside the hotel which causes some nuisance, and as you step out, there’s often a smell of public urination. This issue is common across many parts of Varanasi, not just here.
Overall, a decent stay if you’re focused on location and temple access, but service and external surroundings could be better.
