Worst experience of my life.
I went with my wife and 9-month-old child. I had called a day before to confirm the booking, and again on the day of arrival, I called to reconfirm. But to my shock, they said there was no such booking and simply hung up. After several calls and arguments, they finally acknowledged that it was their homestay in Hosahalli.
When we reached the property, it was completely locked and no one was there. After a long wait, a lady came and opened the room. At first glance, the room looked okay, but soon we realized it had been closed for a long time — the bedsheets were dusty and had fungus. We started sneezing constantly.
Since our flight was at 6 AM the next morning, we decided to leave early. We went out for dinner by booking an auto, and when we returned around 7 PM, the place was pitch dark. There was not a single light outside the property, and no one was around — only many stray dogs. I had to find a switch and turn on one light myself.
We started feeling unsafe. We also ran out of water and tried calling the lady again, but she didn’t pick up. At this point, we decided we couldn’t stay there any longer. We booked another hotel and arranged a cab. But even then, the cab driver called us saying the main gate was locked and he couldn’t come inside.
It was horrifying — we had to carry all our luggage and our baby, and walk a long distance in complete darkness through a place that felt haunted. We kept calling the lady, but again, no answer. Somehow, we managed to reach the main gate and leave for another hotel.
I paid for just 1-2 hours of this nightmare.
Please, if you cannot manage a homestay properly, shut it down. Don’t put families with kids through such trauma. I strongly advise against staying here — especially if you are with children.
