Old traditional Kerala Tharavadu
A Truly Authentic and Memorable Experience in Calicut. We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful traditional heritage homestay nestled in the serene rural side of Calicut. The house itself is a stunning old Kerala-style structure, thoughtfully preserved to retain its original charm while offering all the modern comforts like air conditioning, attached bathrooms, and a kettle in the room. The setting is absolutely peaceful – acres of lush greenery, a small stream flowing gently in front of the house where the kids had a great time playing, and even a traditional kalaripura that adds a unique cultural touch to the experience. The food was another highlight authentic, home-cooked Kerala meals that were delicious and served with so much love and care. The hospitality was exceptional. Akshay went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home and had everything we needed. His warmth and attentiveness truly made the stay special. A special mention to Mr. Unnikrishnan, the owner – a true visionary who has done a remarkable job maintaining the heritage value of the house while seamlessly integrating modern amenities. His passion for preserving Kerala’s cultural roots is evident in every detail of the property.
