Unplanned last minute trip took us to Manali for 4 days. After checking reviews on various sites we decided to go ahead with Swiss wood hotel. Our package includes breakfast and WiFi complementary.
Hospitality- overall was good. Mix of staff . Some super warm and friendly. Some arrogant or lack of communication skills. Food- the pain part of the entire trip. From the menu, half of the things were never available, specifically tandoor- items, limited menu. Food quantity and taste was good. Breakfast menu was kind of repetitive Bkoz during my stay fried pasta was there everyday which was kind of oily. Secondly coming to chicken masala -recommended by the chef was promised to be served with boiled eggs however when served it was scrambled egg mixed in the gravy. Asking for tawa roti due to food poisoning- we were repeatedly denied as they coaxed to take tandoor roti. When complained to the hotel manager finally got tawa roti. Overall food - bit too oily but taste of food was overall okay. The best part of the stay was the housekeeping guys- very warm, friendly and well mannered staff. The rooms were cleaned time to time and the best part of it was they had always a smile on the face. Location-away from the Hustling Mall Road, absolute gorgeous view of the snow clad mountains, it was amazing. Transportation wise - local buses, autos are there. But best is to rent a bike or Scotty to roam around.
Overall - decent stay, management needs to work on the better kitchen staff.
