The check-in process was minimal, just an entry in a register. But the main thing happened before the check-in. At the time of booking, the hotel staff assured me that we would have full set of plates & cutlery for whenever we order food from outside (because there is no restaurant in the hotel). However, when I requested for 3 sets of plates and cutlery, they denied having cutlery and sent plates instead. While they were quite polite, it serves as a reminder that promises are only half true.
We had a pleasant stay of course, but the room was quite basic. There was no TV remote, no towels, no napkins, no desk lamp or any electric kettle etc. Most hotels in this price range offer these things. We had to call them for water bottles (and they promptly brought them to us) but I couldn't see any water dispenser anywhere. The entire building is new but not a very comfortable one due to the lack of basic amenities like doormats or intercom phones. Purely because I had the staff mobile number I could call them, else I would have had to go downstairs each time. One good thing is that they had Wifi which worked well. There were no disruptions like general hotel Wifi connections, maybe because of the lack of occupancy.
I would definitely prefer staying here again because it was simple and basic (with a slightly higher price point) but yes I would return.
